Superb
This is a great course although a little out of the way. Well-maintained with no pretense.
Definitely going back
First round of the year and never played the course before. I was impressed. They've done a really nice job, and the course was in great shape for it being so early in the year.
I liked the layout of the course, and I look forward to learning to navigate it a little better over time.
Challenging Green Complexes
A fun course to play from any tee. Great shape and well worth the drive from St. Paul
decent course if this
Pace of play was ridiculous. Time between tee times was too short.
Very Nice Course
Great Course!! Lots of challenging approaches to the greens. Great diversity between The Mens and Womens tees makes it great for couples.
A definite "We Must Go Back There" Course!!!
Worth the drive
Played this course the day after 5 inches of rain fell and i was in really good shape! Had the front 9 closed to carts so we played the back twice and had fun. Played in under 3 hours. Greens and fairways are in great shape. No water on the course so bring a cooler.
Nice course
Always fun and challenging. Course was in great shape and greens are good. Have played it many times and will keep going back.
Great Course for the $
Great course for the money. Old time City course with mature trees. A couple of holes are on fairly steep hills but overall this is a very walkable course.
Good flowing course
I have played the course several times. It is always in good condition. It is playable and challenging .I would recommend this course highly for value and fun.
Great course
Great course for the money. I love Montgomery. National...
this course is alot of fun for all handicaps,
the course was in great shape except for the greens, they had been ariated a couple of weeks previously. everyone I know loves this course it has a great layout.
gem in the country
club house and pro shop are small and insignificant, course is in great shape and very pretty. driving up to the course the first impression is not great, but once you tee off you will realize that all of the resource are dedicated to course quality. Very nice track, well worth the drive.
The course is tough
Course is tough for beginners- hackers shouldn't play this course! Greens are tough but fair, few holes with water in play, a lot of trees so keep your ball straight!
fun track
great deal on golfnow, a bit more of a drive than I would like to do normally, fun course, great staff, would go again.
Goldstrand hidden gem!
Excellent staff, course conditions, and layout. Some holes provide birdies and some provide bogies. Greens are fast and true, fairways clean and open, rough/trees/brush areas are penal if you get in to deep. A variety of holes with all types represented for all golfers. It is not a long course but does place a value on shot placement, you must play the course the way it was designed or you will pay with higher scores. Overall a great course that you can play just south of the cities!
Good time had by all
Fun time and honest course. Fun, not to difficult, but fair.
Perfect experience
Friendly staff greetings and some course directions started a perfect round. After a tasty hotdog, my wife and I played 18 in a cart for our first time. The variety in the layout and beautiful mature oak trees made this course a must play. Yes there was couple of blind shots off the tee and some water edges not known to us first timers, but it did not bother us at all. Addition, cart path/next hole markings and fairway yardages help us speed around the course. Each hole had some play it safe or risk it routes. All though it is a longer drive (avoid CO RD #1 road close/detour) from us, we'll be back with our couples gang.
Lots of long grassy areas.
The course was in good shape, but some holes are very difficult to reach the green due to the natural habitat areas.
good course
friendly course management made play possible. There are birdies out there
Great value
Course in great shape. Could use some water coolers spread out on some holes. Lots of bugs. Maybe due to all the rain? Bring spray just in case. Will be back.
