Always a good round
I’ve been to New Prague several times over the years and it’s never disappointed. The course was in great shape as always. The staff is very friendly and the rate was very fair for a Sunday morning. I will most certainly keep going back to play this fine course.
Great food and golf
I love going to New Prague, for all sorts of reasons, Great course, fast hard greens the mix of old and new style holes, not breaking the bank. Also I love there snack bar. Located at a confluence of 6 holes. you pass frequently, with bar service and beer and large selection of soft drinks, the beverages are great, and they have a grill that they prepare the food outside and the burgers and brats are to die for. Can't wait to go back
Covid golf
Teed off 9:30 am finished 12:45 greens were very good for early spring. Cup equipped with foam filler up to about 1 inch from grass level so you could sink a putt but still get ball out without touching pin. One person to cart people kept to 6 foot separation at all times. One suggestion would be to put inexpensive rake in each cart for trap upkeep rakes could be sanitized along with carts after round.
Great course!
The staff was friendly and the course was in great shape for early in the season. There’s lots of trees, but they do a nice job of trimming them. Bring your own water, because there was none for sale at the clubhouse and there was none in the machine.
Great day of golf with friends. The course is short but fair and fun to play.
Buckle up
Tree lined fairways yet very fair and challenging. They can put the cups in areas on the greens that will test your touch, again fair and the greens are always in excellent condition. Your warmly greeted, just an outstanding course to play!!
Small city gem.
Great course not long but the layout makes it a good test of your skills. It was my first time playing the course and I had a blast! The greens were in great shape as was the fairways and tee boxes. If you haven’t checked it out I would recommend it!
Tricky for first time players
Multiple blind shots. I'm not the greatest at accuracy and in turn couldn't find resting spot. Greens were hard and tough to stop the ball from running off. I also played with rental clubs for 10$! I'd play it again but would rather play with someone who has played it before. Also, finding the next tee box was a bit confusing.
Worst course I've ever played
I paid $12 to play today and feel i paid way to much. Had a 11:15 booked in golfNow and was last person to book hot deal. I get there halfhour early to find the starter paired someone else with the people I was suppose to join so told me to go off back nine alone. Tee boxes were very rough and had to wait until the guy driving the mower got out of range which meant he was right next to tee box but never stopped for me to hit. Thousands of leaves not mowed up but blown to sides of fairways. Big problem is every hole has another one next to it doing the same. Any ball the bounced through fairway (which were like cement) literally took 10 minutes to find if at all. One fairway had such deep ruts Iwas almost thrown out if cart. Sandtraps were horrible as welll. I talked to 3 other people while looking for decent teeshots that were complaining as much.
I know this time of year isn't easy but com.e on other courses do it. I played 5 holes and left. Absolutely will not play here again. I can't imagine people playing full price to play the tract.
Accuracy off the tee required.
If you miss the fairway on any hole, scoring par is difficult (you need a punch shot when playing this course). Plan to play this course once all the leaves are off the trees to see if a good score is easier to obtain.
Greens were in very good shape for this time of the season, no summer patch issues at this course. Tee boxes are level and have good grass. Fairways were also in very good shape.
Not worth the trip, over-priced
Don't bother. Fairways and greens are rock hard. Every chip felt like it was chipping off of cement with just a thin layer of grass under your ball. Layout is anything special. Staff was nice though.
New Prague Golf
Nice, old city course. Very well maintained. Lots of trees on this course so hitting straight and staying in the short grass is key.
I'm a newb
Course is a bit narrow and straight. Not much for character. Not a bad city course. Cart paths were a bit rough. I had fun. I'd choose montgomery over this one.
narrow fairway, difficult greens.
nice course for the money, the course is not long, most fairways are lined with trees on both side, the landing varies from 50 yards to 150 yards wide, the greens were hard as a rock, coming in with anything longer than 8 iron was hard to stop, stay below the hole.
