Nice course but overpriced.
The staff in the pro-shop denied being a member of GolfNow.com
I had to show him my receipt to prove that they were and that I had a discounted rate. He just couldn't get over fact that they belonged. The pace of play was great and the course itself was in good shape.
Deer Run GC is one of the best public courses in the state. Great price, condition, and overall experience. I can't wait to play it again.

Pretty area. Course attractively landscaped.
Enjoyed our first experience playing here. Helpful to be paired up with someone who knew the course layout. Would return to play at golfnow prices! Well maintained and fun to play.
Nice course, super staff
The first time I played Deer Run was a very pleasant experience. Everyone from the guy in the shop, to the starter, to the marshal and the cart gal were all extremely friendly and helpful. The course was in very nice shape, too although rather on the short side.
Always a great round of golf.
I play Deer Run at least three times a year and I'm never disappointed. The course is very playable but has some holes that make you work for your shot or at least make you think twice about what club you're pulling out of your bag. If you're looking for a course in good shape, challenging but fair pin placements and a decent price, Deer Run should be on your list. Once you're done with your round have a burger in the clubhouse, it's one of the best.
Well kept throughout. Nice tucked away location with great scenery.
Had a great time all around. Nice clubhouse, course, staff, and patrons.
Fun Course
Very scenic course in a nice neighborhood. Not a long course but still challenging with several hazards to contend with. Nice clubhouse and great service on the course.
Great.greens.
Regular price is overpriced for what the course offers. Nice course but will only play.discounted tee times
Very pretty course.
Had not played in over ten years. Always have liked the course and found it challenging and well maintained.
wow very nice
well kept challenging great condition gps in carts...very enjoyable and with the price golfnow got for me cheap too
Fun, challenging, beautiful, friendly course.
Great golfing experience. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were immaculate. Each hole is unique. Plenty of opportunities and challenges. Subtle green reads. Very friendly fellow golfers and course staff. Luxury carts with sporty seats and accurate on-board GPS. Look forward to playing again especially using hot-deal pricing.
shorter, nedium challenge
Average difficulty, short, with a number of holes that tempt you to be aggressive. Much of the time this is a bad risk / reward but if you are really on you could go low. Greens had subtle breaks that were hard to read for pins I had this day. A few greens had to much slope for these pins. Condition was good not great. I really consider this to only be a good value at a big discount from normal rate.
My favorite place to play in the Twin Cities
I play more than 20 different courses each year in the Twin Cities and Deer Run is still my favorite place to play. Good variety of holes, best public greens I play on all year, not too hard, super friendly staff (including rangers), fast pace of play and the BEST burgers I've every had at a golf course OR restaurant.
I saw a comment about their fairways being in tough shape in May 2013...they are GREAT now. Spring of 2013 was the WORST weather in 100+ years and even private clubs had spots on their fairways in May this year. It is now in perfect shape again (as usual).
Bottom line...try it, you'll like it...and it's only 15 minutes from 494 and Highway 5.
Playability is Great
The course was well maintained and offers ease or challenge to any level of golfer.
Great course!
I really enjoyed playing this course! We have played there the last 3 weekends. Good value!
I really enjoyed this course and will definitely go back. Most people I talked to had not heard of the course.
I really enjoyed playing this course. I found it on GolfNow.com. Most people I talked to had not heard of the course. I thought the course was in great shape. Particularly the roughs. They were excellently maintained, I didn't see a weed on the entire course in the roughs, and they were uniformly cut on the whole course! I thought the greens were in very good condition. There was still a little winter kill in some spots in the fairways, but overall the fairways were in good shape The course was very interesting, lots of elevation changes, but not too challenging. I really enjoyed this course and will definitely go back. I am looking forward to taking my two sons to the course also and I am sure they will greatly enjoy it also.
great course.
Very nice course, not too long of a course and greens were very well kept
A course all should play
Deer Run a hidden gem, come out and experience this course.
Fun course to play
Very friendly staff and great layout of the course. Had a great time playing the course. I myself wouldn't walk this course.
