Worth the trip
Hadn’t played this course in many years. Wasn’t sure what to expect. Very glad we went. Course is fair for an average golfer. It was in very good condition. Plays longer than what it looks and the restaurant on site is outstanding. Definitely will make this trip at least once in our future golf seasons.
Labor Day Golf
Very nice course. Narrow, so not much room for error. Well worth a trip to St Clair Shores.
Great local course..
Always in good shape..
Staff is friendly...
Good restaurant...
Rain game
First time at SCS and it rained from our second hole all the way through our seventeenth but had a blast. Would definitely come back when it’s not raining
Poor Management
I booked 18 holes multiple days in advance only to get to the course and they tell me I can only play 9. They did not care that I had booked 18 or offer any other option. It was take it or leave it! I would have went elsewhere if I would have known it was only 9 holes. Also the group in front of us had 5 people playing together causing lengthy delays. If you can not accommodate offers online then do not allow your course to have online booking.
Golf is for the Birds
Not exactly… but there was a bird at hole five that was protecting the ball wash and would dive bomb anyone who got close. Not much happening until hole 10, where a hawk snatched a snapped bird out of the sky and about 20 other small birds chased, attacked and ran off the hawk. The last par five had seen some stuff: large feather were strewn across the entire length of the fairway. Goose size feathers. Couldn’t imagine what transpired there. All in all, still recovering from Alfred Hitchcock type day; will play again.
City owned
They are in the process of making the course seam nicer but the place has dry and needs to be watered and they put the cheapest sand in the traps and nobody is happy about the quality. I know white sand would cost more but the city owns this course and it’s constantly filled with people, so they will get it back! and it would bring the aesthetics of this small average course up 100% and I talked it no less than 75 people who agree with my assessment . I’m going to other courses now and for same money they have nicer courses
