Eldon Golf
Course was good for April. However, it was 80 degrees and there was no drinking water on the course.
Amazing golf course
Fairways and greens were in great shape. Got out early and didn't see a soul until making the turn with people at the clubhouse. If you live at the lake and this course isn't in your regular rotation, you are severely missing out. Looking forward to coming down from Columbia again!
Playing in the Fall
Played the course in October, but on a great day. Other than needing to clear a path on the greens to putt (falling leaves on a breezy day), the course plays as good as in the middle of summer. As usual, the staff is friendly and ready to help.
decent course, fun course, not special
Played on a Monday in October. It was extremely windy and most of the front nine has little tree cover so it was in interesting day. We never saw any other golfers on the course all day. They were also top dressing the greens on the front nine which is why the course conditions wasn't great. The clubhouse guy warned us about it, and it wasn't a big deal. because of all the sand we couldnt get the flag back in the cup on one hole and on two others we couldn't get the flag out. however the zoysia fairways were great, as were the tee boxes. Greens on the back were in good shape and very consistent speed. Every hole has a little bit of a turn to it, and there were some with big elevation changes. the 18th is totally out of character with the rest of the course- a reachable par 5 with trouble in front- trees and a creek, making you make a good decision and execute it properly- a really good golf hole.
Tip - on the downhill # 13, the fairway slopes hard right to left and a good tee shot may end up unplayable in the left trees- keep it to the right of the fairway.
I had read it was a "must play" course at the lake. I certainly wouldn't put it in that character, but it was a fun place to play and the staff very friendly.
Challenging Course
Need to stay in the fairway! A lot trees make for a precise approach. A lot of sloping greens that were somewhat fast! Fun course!!!
Very enjoyable
The course is in great shape. The greens are fast but fair. I'll be back.
Great value
Nice course. Great value for a great round of golf. I Really enjoyed the course. Had challenges for all level of players. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
A Little Aggravating
Have played this course on many occasions and have always enjoyed it, until this round. As we were approaching the 12th green, several carts started coming up the cart path. Turns out that there was a "couples" gathering that were teeing off on 12, 13, 14, and 15 at 5:00 PM. No one in the clubhouse had informed us about this situation. I called the clubhouse to inquire as to what was going on. I was informed that this was scheduled but no one knew about it. I was asked if it would be okay to play in between couples. I said that I would, but if anyone came to me to complain that I would be contacting the clubhouse, again. Other than taking additional time to play, it turned out to be alright.
Fun course to play!
A good course with a blend of wide open holes and some very challenging holes. The greens are slick and run very true. An excellent value for the money and a excellent opportunity for golfers in the Lake area!
Beautiful course
Challenging but not overly so. Nice variety.
Didn't play. Violent T-Storms in area.
Played this course before and was pleased with it. Wished that the weather was better.
Fun and Some Challenging Holes
Course is good for both advanced and intermediate players.
Glad to Get to Play Eldon Again
I like the Eldon course. It has some tough holes, but there are nice wide, flat fairways out there, too. Not the "Ozark" layout of the courses around the lake. Being able to play at the GolfNow rate is great. I will make a point to get on at Eldon more often using GolfNow.
Good Value.
A nice variety of holes in a rolling hills setting.
nice track
For late fall the course was great with leaves falling we lost a few balls but that is fall golf.
Dry
Some greens were good others not so
We arrived and the staff were very friendly
Wanted to have a meal but clubhouse not available
Course was very dry and tons of leaves down already
Great challenge for the price
After spending a Labor Day weekend playing golf courses all around the lake, I was ready for an easy Sunday stroll down the fairways at Eldon. I can say that I under estimated this course. Landing a ball the fairway is no guarantee of a par. The course has a few holes that play really long up hill. Make sure to take an extra club for the yardage, I didn't hit one ball past the flag stick all day. The course had some casual water from the previous days rain, but this made the fairways and greens an absolute delight. The greens putted true and our group had a few long birdie puts drop. Some local knowledge of the greens would have been helpful, since a few of the greens (especially on the back 9) seem to break up hill! Overall, this course is a great challenge for the money and only a 20 minute drive from the lake. Totally worth every penny!
Nice place to play
We play Eldon every time we are at the lake. It is a nice course at a good price. Avery nice value.
