Sugar Creek Golf Course offers some of the best scenery of any course in the St. Louis area. Golfers can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the course's elevated tees. The course opened in 1990 with several improvements made in the following years. The layout is a manageable length at just under 6,100 yards. It is player-friendly enough for beginners to approach with confidence but there are also challenges in store for more advanced players. Water only comes into play on one hole but there are stands of trees lining the narrow fairways. The golf course will generously reward accuracy and good strategy though it is not overly punishing if you are slightly errant. In addition to the course, Sugar Creek G.C. also boasts an expansive practice range with 35 hitting stations.

Making Some Good Improvements

This golf course has been in pretty bad shape for the past few years, and still has some problems, but they seem to be making good improvements that make the course much more playable than in years past. My friends and I had actually stopped playing at Sugar Creek for the most part 2 years ago because the greens were unputtable, and the course was in very bad shape overall, but this season they seemd to have made a turnaround and are heading in the right direction. There were only a few greens with problems, (only 1 green was unputtable - #5 I believe) and a couple greens that look like they had just been repaired. They had 2 makeshift greens setup in the fairways ajacent to the newly-repaired greens on #6 and #18, but the repaired greens look like they will be nice one they are opened back up. Fairways were not perfect (what course's fairways are perfect?) but they had plenty of grass and are greening up nicely. One improvement that needs to be addressed at some point are the cartpaths, but this did not affect my game, so I don't hold it against them too much. The staff was friendly and the pace of play was normal to above average for such a perfect day. I had a good time playing this pretty challenging golf course. They definitely do need to keep working on the course to get it back to where it was a few years ago, but I'm happy to see that they have made a turnaround, and my friends and I will be playing here more often this season as long as the course condition continues to improve.

Beautiful course and clean bathrooms

The course is beautiful and well kept! However, my favorite part of this course is how welcoming they are to women golfers. The women’s restroom is clean, which I know seems like a standard every golf course should have, but that’s not the world we live in. It’s always clean, smells good and not used a storage. Recommend everyone check out the course.

We love this Course.
The owner Mr. Webbe and his staff made us feel like we belonged there.
We have had our event there the last three years. We will continue for three more.
Their catering for our event was excellent . Fit what we were looking for and we did not feel like they ever took advantage of us in anyway.
Prices were fair. We did not feel like they took advantage of us in anyway.
Thank you from our K of C members.. see you again soon..

Getting better but not quite there

Since going under new management a few years ago, I have made it a point to play this curse once per year. Outside of a few holes, I like the layout. Narrow fairways lined with trees and some dramatic elevation changes make this course both interesting and challenging. Greens were notably slow and pin placements seemed to be regularly in on very slopes parts of the green.

Work in progress. Props for that. A little tricked up but fun if it moves. Hope to try again when they make more progress.

Work In Progress

They’re working on the course. The front 9 is in pretty rough shape but the back 9 is wildly better.
It’s always a fun course but you can tell they’re putting the work in to make this place great.

Very friendly staff and good course

I've played a Sugar Creek quite a few times and the staff is always very friendly and professional. The course was in green condition, especially the fairways. It's great course for a great price!

Amazing course with lots of character

Sugar Creek Golf Course in Highridge, Missouri, is an absolute gem. The manicured greens and fairways create a picturesque backdrop for a round of golf. Hole number eight has such an elevated tee that you can see the STL downtown skyline/ Arch 25 miles away. The course layout offers a perfect balance of challenge and enjoyment, catering to both seasoned golfers and those new to the game. The friendly and accommodating staff (Nick, Grant, Mike, Britney, and “lil” Grant) enhance the overall experience, making every visit a memorable one. From the well-maintained facilities to the breathtaking views, Sugar Creek Golf Course has holes with unique character that stand out as a must-visit destination for golf enthusiasts. Also, I would have to say, compared to 10 years ago, this is the best turnaround and improved course that I’ve played in St. Louis with new golf carts, improved cart paths, better landscaped Fairways, tee boxes, and greens.

Beautiful corse

Gorgeous course with IMENSE elevation changes both uphill and downhill. Bunkers were closed for not affecting us whatsoever. I played the worst round of my life and still enjoyed the way this course lays out. Several challenging blind dog legs, blind hills and just challenging decisions made on the course.

Need marshals, golfer hitting 2-3 balls off tee, looking for balls. What supposed to be3.5 hours ended 5 hours aggravated informed the clubhouse acted as if this was normal. F

Five hours

Nice golf course, pace of play sucks they need Marshalls. When I’m waiting at the Teebox over5 minutes while people are trying to find the balls and looking for balls in the woods instead of playing golf. It is ridiculous. You can do anything you want to make it a beautiful golf course but if you allowed that kind of play, close it down.
