Better hit it straight!
Great layout with greens that roll true. The bluegrass rough is unforgivable but the fairways offer ample landing zones for good tee shots.
Excellent course
Love the challenge and feel that it is a fair course for any level of player. I would definitely play again!
Search and Rescue
This is an executive course in the fullest sense of the meaning except for the layout. It’s not walk able. It has a couple back to back par 3s. You’ll need the driver on two holes. As of early summer 2022 you’ll need a blood hound to find your ball in the rough. It was not fun and it slows the pace of play due to the high amount of blind dog leg shots. But even when you see the ball land it gets swallowed by the this grass. You can carry the dog legs if you are confident in your height and distance. Friendly staff and nice scenery.
Best bang for your buck.
We are not great golfers and about once every 2 months golfers. This is our go to coarse bc it’s good and reasonably priced.
Hodge Friday Golf
The course is in terrific shape, unlike Shoal Creek across the street. But, $37 to walk the course? I've played this course many times and it's a crapshoot on how long the round will be. The front nine was okay at 2 hours but the back was horrible at 2 hours and 45 minutes. Including a 15-minute wait on the 10th tee. I saw a marshal once, but he apparently just rode around and did nothing to speed up play. Weekends are even slower at times. They need to do something about this.
Good value
I like playing Hodge, it is a fun course. The starters were letting guys out too soon and it made things really slow. The course was in great shape.
Cheapest in Kc and it shows
Narrow fairways with rough so deep you couldn’t find ball, in poor condition overall
Course not ready for play.
We are about a month behind with weather. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are not in shape for play. The bluegrass rough is thick and cut tall. Very hard to find ball if you are not in the fairway. Slow play expected at this course.
Lovely course, Welcoming environment.
First the critique. The fairways were brown, but I suppose with it only just starting to warm up I shouldn’t be surprised, so they get a pass for this. Plus unfortunately it had rained the day before, so there was a little mud. Plus, I do hope this course invests in some electric golf carts, maybe ones with programmable touch screens to give course info and provide a score card. That would be nice.
Now the best parts. The course is honestly a beautiful course, with nice open air near a nice neighborhood, and some decent variety as a standard 70-72 par. I know once those fairways turn green, this will be a very beautiful course. It is also one of the more lax beginner-friendly courses out there, being very forgiving on almost every hole, not exactly providing too much of a challenge.
The staff in the office, food bar, store, and the course Marshalls/service staff were extremely friendly and outgoing, making us feel quite welcome.
I will certainly be coming back here. I only played the front 9 today, but I’ll come back for the full 18 next time.
Great value for the money
Good course that has a open layout. Cart paths were a bit rough along with the tee boxes but it didn’t bother us to much. Greens were well taken care of and we will for sure be back!
