Will return
Played 1st time and felt welcomed. Good challenge with holes and pins...greens in great shape for early spring...trees a factor but overall I enjoyed the course and staff. Look forward to more rounds here.
Winter Golf on Super Bowl Sunday...what more do you want?
Course was pretty empty and since I was playing by myself, pace of play was perfect. Had a great time. It's winter and they have two hole cut on each green that get used on different days. Some of the cups were pretty beat up around the hole from lazy guys who dig the ball out with their putter... but overall the course was pretty good considering the time of year.
Still a fun round.
Perfect Outing
The course was fantastic. Great scenery with plenty of water, sand, etc. It was open enough to be a little forgiving but tricky enough to be challenging. The pace was perfect as we played 18 in under 4 hours. Highly recommended
Shamrock
Course seemed a little rough.... as lots of fairway damage, and greens had lots of ball and spike marks.... biggest concern was pace of play.... We were a twosome..... but course was full and waiting every hole.... no opportunity to play through.... We had 3 groups in front of us that were teaching young kids how to play.... difficult to do on a busy Saturday @ prime morning time
Love the place
While it would be nice if a drink cart circulated on hot days like 7/19/2015 was, you just need to plan for it ahead of time and fill a cooler from the clubhouse.
Other than that, for a Muni, it's awesome. You can spend a lot more money and get little more all over Kansas City.
The coarse is a great coarse.
This isn't the toughest coarse I've played but it's in great shape, the staff is friendly and it is challenging.
This course was sloppy
Had a rain storm day before we played. Course was still very wet and sloppy, muddy most of the course. Brought my father here to play and was unhappy with how slow players were moving on the course. We left after 13th hole.
Great value for the money
they do a good job trying to keep it up.
The fairways are in great shape. I appreciate the water coolers out on the course.
Fun and challenging
This course was a great value. Starts off with a tee shot over water. This happens several times throughout the course. It was more challenging than I was expecting. The greens were in good shape and the fairways were tidy (and wide). I played on a cold Saturday, and the course still filled up. Play became a bit slow in the afternoon. Tee boxes on the back 9 sometimes had 3 different hole starts in the same 50 yard span. I felt like it was just a matter of time before someone got drilled by another group's ball. The clubhouse had no food and no service cart on the course. Seems like a no-brainer to have food available...Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. I will be back
This course is greatly improved.
Shamrock GC is looking good. The course and condition are greatly improved over the last several years. Plenty of challenge in this course for all golfers. Many small greens but normal for midwest courses.
Good outing
Hadn't played the course in 20+ years. Enjoyable return to a fun course. It's fair and mostly forgiving.
Golfer Friendly Course
Not a long course but mature trees add difficulty, unless you hit it straight! Will definitely play this course again.
Good Course
We had a great afternoon of golf. There was a single behind us so he joined up with us and it worked out well. Occasionally slowed down ahead of us but all in all, a very good day of golf.
Old style course but in great shape
This is an old course with small greens. It appears to be fairly short but it is not. Greens were in good shape and fairly fast even after lots of rain.
Fun day on a simple course
Decent course with an overall simple layout. Mature trees lining every fairway which can get you into trouble pretty quicky. Greens were in good shape for this late in the season
great course to play daily
Played this course 4 times now, and had fun every time.
Shamrock hills
We couldn't get there on time so we had to wait and follow best ball tourney so it took us 5 hours to play. But we were in no hurry. I love the amount of mature trees but still having wide fairways.Greens are fairly simple the course was in good shape considering how dry it has been in KC.Bunker sand was kind of hard but the ball set up well in it and I played two of my best bunker shots to the greens I have ever hit! Great afternoon my kinda place! Starter, Marshall's and staff are a very nice group!
Shamrock Hills Review
The staff really worked hard to ensure that our round of golf was enjoyable.
Great Laytout and very challenging
1st time to play this course. Was a great time as 2 of us played, my son and myself. Course was in excellent condition, staff was very friendly. Would recommend this course to anyone and booking early was great with the price cut. Great Outing!! I will be back!
Very well maintained.
Beautiful coarse with excellent employees. I would recommend this coarse to any kind of golfer.
