Rough conditions
This course was in rough shape. Greens were like a sponge, fairways were okay, the rough looked like a pasture. It was safer to drive on the grass rather than the cart path. Felt like every green was above the tee box and there were no yardage markers to be found.
Liberty Hills -A Pleasant Surprise!
Sought out this course because of price and availability. What a pleasant surprise. Price, staff and course exceeded expectations. While it may not be the Masters, neither is my game. Had some challenging holes with some length. We will play this course again.
No Goats seen on the course
This used to one of the nicer courses in the Area. Unfortunately it has declined to the point that it's only redeeming value us that it is a very inexpensive place to play.
Liberty weeds
Played here last year and the course was manicured wonderfully, this year not so much. They wanted to charge for my wife to just ride in the cart with me. Never played a course that asked that. Weeds everywhere, terrible range. Range balls looked like they were put through a blender. Has went way down hill since I played there last year.
Has to improve
Just sad to see that there has been no noticeable improvement, and the course was just not in good enough shape to fully enjoy. Not looking like "Great Life" is putting any money into it. CANNOT have so many fairways with what looks to be at least 3 different types of grass in them...and wow, why is it in KC that these courses simply REFUSE to put up notices when the greens have been aerated? Maybe that's why there is never anybody there...
Wet Conditions
First time playing the course. Only problem was the Cart path only due to three inches of snow the week before. Overall this course is set up come spring time to be challenging and scenic. Definitely coming back when it gets green.
Could be a lot better...
Course was in decent shape and greens were true. Has s good layout and some challenging holes. However, cart paths are in shambles, the clubhouse is a trailer, there were no fountain drinks or food. Has the potential to be a great course but from the looks of things it appears ownership is not interested in attracting more players and members. Worth the $20 I paid but not much more.
Course could use a little TLC!
Rough was really high and there was lots of leaves. It was easy to loose your ball if you were not in the fairway. Greens were nice and tricky! Fairwars were well kept.
Liberty hills
Great course in good shape. Obvious that no clubhouse has reduced player numbers. We finished 18 in 3 hr 40. Just what we were looking for. Great value for $
Striped fairways?
Interesting course. About half of the fairways were zoysia but the rest were striped 8" of Zoysia and 8" of a typical mixed grasses and weeds lawn. Not the best of choice for the fairways. Greens were nice but most of my reads ended up with no break at all or even breaking the other way. Sand traps of the 2 I landed in one was just dry dirt, no sand. The other I had to move to find some sand.
I truly miss the old Liberty Hills
Haven't played here since before the fire that destroyed the clubhouse and country club... This used to be a really nice semi-private course in the Northland. I hope someday it returns back to its glory days..
Country Golf Course. Nice fairways, nice greens.
Golf course in the country. Beautiful scenery. The course was very good, but the club house facilities were extremely lacking. There were very little snacks and no food at all. No beverage cart on a warm sunny day.
Play soon before collapse
Hard to believe you get 18 holes AND cart for $20, but that's because this place is on life support. It isn't a terrible place - other than the double-wide trailer for a clubhouse. But the course is okay. Its in a really pretty place in the country, but it obviously gets no attention and not very much play. It'll be sad when it closes and our remaining north KC courses get slightly more crowded.
It was a quick course, with good holes.
The course is nice and I enjoyed it. The course needs to be better maintained. I would have good drives that would be right off of the fairway and it would be difficult to find because the grass was not cut to appropriate length. I spent a lot of time searching for even on quality shots.
Clubhouse ?
The front nine was in just average condition, but the fairways on the back nine are being converted over to zosia grass so you could get some really bad lies. The greens were in good shape.
This was the first time playing the course since the clubhouse burnt down.
Liberty Hills
I am aware that they had a fire a few years ago, but we were shocked that it had no more play than it did. We had the first tee time and throughout the round, I think we saw three other players . This may be why there has been no money put into some really rough cart paths. The rough cart paths were the only complaint any of us had.
Course Needs Face Lift
Disappointed in the shape of the course, cart paths need a LOT of work and the mowing schedule seems to be way, way behind.
I still like the course, has plenty of flair and beauty, so will return by end of season for another round. Hope I see improvement in the conditions.
Nice Course
Enjoy playing this course, but condition starting to slip a little. Un maintained rough in areas, but overall, pretty average. Good value at $35.
Evanb21,
I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the course.
Hopefully the greens were spongy due to all the rain. And yes we are aware we have some cart paths that are rough. We have plans to redo those as well as a new clubhouse soon. Our yardage is getting marked as we speak and we hope you give it another shot soon.
