Course needs attention
Played the course for the first time and found the lay-out good, the staff friendly, but the course itself needs work. Teeboxes have overgrown grass, almost like teeing up in the light rough, Lots of bare patches of dirt versus grass in the fairway. Greens are in good shape considering its fall, but are playing quite slow with bumps that make reading a putt difficult. Would play again in the spring.
Solid and fun course
Made the trip down south of the city to play Oak Valley. It was a fun course to play that, given the fall time of the year, was in solid but not great shape. Was told it was bought out a few years ago by new ownership that is slowly putting in improvements.
The tee boxes were good while the fairways (and rough) were solid but patchy in some places. There were areas of bare dirt and mud in others. The greens were strong but a little fuzzy, slow and had a lot of unrepaired ball marks. The cart path was good in some places but pretty uneven in other places.
When we were teeing off on No. 5, we almost got hit by two approach shots on No. 2 that flared wide right! So pay attention when you are on that tee box. After the ninth hole, you have to travel a pretty good distance to get to the back nine. The last couple of holes overlook the river and is a nice little setting coming home.
If I could, I’d probably rate this course 3-1/2 stars but it is an enjoyable track so I bumped it up to four stars.

Not worth full price.
The cart paths are horrendous, some of the staff are rude and the price you pay for 18 holes is way too much for this course. Do not recommend. SO many better courses to play.
Don't use Golfnow to book tee times.
Trying to get a raincheck from this place is a joke. I have called Golfnow and was told to create account. Called back and was told there would be a credit on my account. Still no credit and need to call again. Very difficult to understand what the guy on the phone was saying also. The 6 holes I got to play seemed awesome, so I will try to get my credit and play again.
Course Maintenance
Course needed mowed and greens were in horrible shape. Showed up for my tee time only to find out they had booked another double for the same time.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Oak Valley Golf Course & Resort, and we hope to see you again in the future.
We enjoyed the course
Course was in pretty good condition overall. Hoosiers need to fix their ball marks on the greens, other than this course was in great shape.
I enjoy the course layout a lot. You get to pull driver out a good amount. A lot of uneven lies makes for challenging approach shots.
Mudd
Pace of play was ridiculous. Had to ask the Marshall to rattle some cages. Once the Marshall got involved, it improved dramatically but tgere were 5 holes that were simply torture.
Hello, thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.
Course is very challenging
Course is in great condition and was a joy to play!
Nice course
The Fairways and Greens are in good condition. Cart path was a little rough between holes. New Proshop looked nice! I had played this course in the past when it had different owners, new owners have made some good improvements!
Oak Valley 18 Holes
Extremely hot day and no beverage cart running the course. I asked why not and they told me there was not enough golfers to do it. Our 10:50 a.m. tee time saw foursomes start ahead of us as well as many behind us. The heat wave that was hitting should have warranted a beverage cart regardless of the number of golfers on the course. There is no where else on the course to buy more. It would have shown an appreciation for the golfers being out there on such a hot day and they would have made a little more money. When we did make the turn to replenish drinks there was a great selection of beers, but not much in the line of water and sports drinks. Food/snacks were nonexistent unless you wanted a bag of chips. Went to the bar to find out how long it took to cook a burger and was greeted by a bartender that asked me to "talk to him like a man". Needless to say we passed on the burger. Overall, course had some issues with erosion, some maintenance neglect and rough sand traps, but tee boxes and greens were in pretty good shape for the heat that has been around. Customer service would have made the difference that day and really is not that hard if you put a little effort into it.

Great Course
Was skeptical about playing after reading some reviews. As of 6/12 I thought the tee box’s were in fine shape, fairways weren’t immaculate but still very playable, and greens were awesome. There is still some ground under repair but it is minimal. I will say I think $48 is steep for what you get. I’d say it’s a $28-30 course but that being said I would definitely return and play this course again.
