Must Play
All things considered, this course is a great value. The price was very inexpensive, the fairways and greens were in super condition.
I played courses this year that cost $45.00, that were in this shape.
Highly recommend!
Willow
Course was in great shape and the egg salad sandwich at the turn was delicious.
Willow GC
It would have been nice to advise that the greens had been aerated...!
Not really a good deal with those conditions.
Extremely slow play. Normally when I play here the pace is fine
I don’t mind waiting a little while between shots , but when you have to wait 10 minutes per shot it’s no fun.
Willow MetroPark Golf Course
Course was in great shape. Had to wait on each hole..
15th hole waiting with anothe group on tee box.
16 th hole there were three groups on the tee box.
Never found out why
Ranger Danger
Course is in decent shape for the price. This course is usually plagued by slow play but wasn’t bad this time around. We had one hole take us 15 minutes after making the turn at 2 hours 10 minutes and a ranger named Ron followed us and watched our tee shots and approach shots for the next 5 holes because he said we were playing slow. We finished the round of 18 holes in 4 hours and 30 minutes and asked the ranger at the clubhouse (Darrell)what the average pace of play should be and he said 4 to 5 hours so we didn’t know why we were being harassed by the other ranger. We did not even have time to take the bunkers, fix ball marks on the greens, or line up our putts. We didn’t even take the flag out of the hole on the back 9 and he still followed us. Every time we asked him why he was staying with us instead of just informing us we were off pace momentarily, he would have a different excuse. He told us the groundskeeper had to work on some holes and we were preventing him from doing that, but apparently everyone else on the course behind and in front of us didn’t matter. Ron also said that you should never let a group that is playing faster than you pass you on the course which I have never heard of in my entire golfing career. Save your money and go check out another metro park course or look in Monroe for similar cost options. This course just isn’t worth it.
Okay course
The course was just OK. Tee boxes are horrible, but the greens are average. Golf carts need to be replaced and they need MORE carts if they are going to be able to keep up with weekend golf traffic. But it was an OK course.
