Terrible Experience - don't waste your money
The grass had not been cut on the course in probably 2 weeks. We lost 3 balls in the fairway because the grass was so high and another 4 balls in the rough. Everything we hit was in play, but you could not find your ball unless you stepped on it. We only played 4 holes because we were so frustrated at how high the grass was and the inability to find our balls in the fairway. Upon returning to the club house we complained and were told that the mower had not been running for 2 weeks. Since we were not told about the course conditions when we paid the $50 for 9 holes, we asked for a refund or a raincheck to play another time when the grass was cut , but the kid was rude and refused to provide either. We will never play this course again!
course stinks
I have played there often in the past, but because of the recent flooding the course is a piece of manure. Mud, standing water. the greens were receptive but putting was difficult with the thousands of ant mounds on all of them. I consider myself an above average golfer but even I had difficulty hitting off sunbaked mud fairways. Unfortunately I brought my girlfriend with me and she had a horrible time trying to adjust to these conditions. Your website should have told of these condition and I would have never played there and won't in the future. Wish I could get my money back. The woman at the counter seemed to careless.
Don't waste your money
Worse course I ever played . Clothes and clubs covered in dirt, didn't even play all 18
Sunset Hills GC
Staff was very nice. Course was consistently a 3 star course in my opinion. Good for a layer back outing. Shot an 88.
You get what you pay for
This course is inexpensive because it's not well maintained. There is very little grass and lots of weeds. The greens are slow and had recently been aerated which was not communicated. For $15-$20 it's okay to knock some rust off your game in the spring. Otherwise there are better options.
Not Sure
Played in early March, windy. Very tight fairways, tight course. First time playing there, may try what seasonal golf is like there.
December Golf
Always a great day when your playing in December!
Course was in good shape a little wet .
Excellent
Very clean and well taken care of. Greens are managed well. I would definitely recommend this course.
For the money...fun experience
Now, let me preface, this is not a challenging course. Or a beautiful course. That being said - I love it. Be careful to not play it after a big rain...but try it out any other time. Cool par 3s and some rolling hills that punish you for missing fairways. All in all, one of my favorite STL courses for the money...and I've played them all.
2016 golf with son
I treated my son to a round of golf before he returns to collage...We arrived 45 minutes prior to our tee time to warm up and use putting green...the manager would not give us a golf cart for warm up...he said," don't show up early your tee time is 12:50"...15 minutes before starting time the manager started yelling at us about starting before the scheduled tee time. With only two other golfers starting between12:05 and12:50...I HAVE SEEN THIS BEHAVIOR FROM THE MANAGER IN THE PAST...NOW I WILL NEVER GO BACK NOR RECOMMEND THIS COURSE UNTIL CORRECTIVE MEASURES ARE TAKEN BY HIS EMPLOYER...
Terrible
The course was in terrible shape. Standijg water wss all over the fair ways. The fairways had not been cut in at least a week and the rough was extremely long. The man working the counter also was very unprofessional and rude. I will not be playing this course for a long time.
S H firsttimer
It was a hot day 97*
and I shot a very bad game 117
but I will try the course again soon
Shoot low
Not a difficult course, good course to really try to shoot a low score. Greens rolled great. Course is very flat so water sits. I wouldn't recommend playing her the day after it rains. I played a solid round so I enjoyed myself.
Spend wisely
Course is worth playing for $15 or less, 18 holes with cart. Fairways and rough very spotty. Where there was grass the ruff needed to be mowed. The greens were in decent shape though. It was warm and humid and they had three water jugs on the course, no cups, Lukewarm water on top of that. I live in Fenton so for a quick round for under 15 bucks I would do it but no more than that.
Challenging Course- Friendly Staff
Highlight: The staff. Friendly, helpful, they were glad we tried their course. We will be back! AND THE WINGS SERVED IN THE CLUBHOUSE, BEST IN ST. LOUIS!
Good condition
I'd not heard a lot about this course, the little I did hear was not great. Not the case, Fairways were in very good condition, greens were near excellent, not many doglegs, but the rough is thick and there were other hazards, it's a challenge without being overwhelming. I plan on returning.
Over-priced golf course
You should never pay full price to play this very mediocre public course. The water jugs are sparse and filled with hose water. The management does not keep up with refilling the jugs even with 100 degree weather. The price to play such a bad public course should be about $15.
Never Again
The amount of people they try to jam on the course was insane. There were no tee times, they just sent everyone to the first tee and it caused significant pace of play issues and lots of ducking and making sure you weren't being hit into. The fairways were so inconsistent, some had grass and other parts didn't. The rough was all different levels depending on the hole as well. This was my first and only time attending this course.
Well this is an inside comment..this course is trash
