Okay Course
Blind tee shots on almost every hole.. fairly challenging- lots of narrow fairways... if you can get the hot deal for less than $40 including a cart, it would be more worth it.
Liked it for the Third Time
Third time playing Buffalo Hills in a month. I really like this course. This course has so many unusual fairways I just find it fun to play. I had become my go to course whenever in the Whitefish/Kalispell area. I especially like the Golf Now Hot Deals that were offered this summer.
Very good Golf Now Desl
My wife and I played this course 4 weeks ago and again 2 days ago. Playing again today. Course is challenging and having some advice or experience is very helpful. Some very interesting undulations but we feel this makes the round more fun. A couple of tough elevation changes but for the most part a walkable course. My favourite course in Whitefish/Kalispell.
Very nice course with a wide variety of holes. The greens were slower than I am used to. Played a round in 4 hours.
Great course!
Wonderful place to play! Really enjoyed the views!
Technical Gun Course
Been to Whitefish/Kalispell a lot over the years and and have played most of the local courses but never Buffalo Hills. I read some reviews that made it sound questionable but I can honestly say it is a fun course to play. We were lucky to be paired with a couple who had played it a lot and offered some very good advise on club selection and ball placement. Some local knowledge saved a lot of strokes and lost balls. Without it, the first time playing could disappoint some golfers. However, once you get the lay of the land you find out you can’t just bomb every par 4 and 5 with a driver or even a 3 wood. There are terrific elevation changes, sloped fairways and strategic hazards. All can be navigated but you have to know your yardage and hit your shots. If you like a course that challenges all the clubs in your bag you will enjoy this track.
This course is beautiful with huge trees
We enjoy playing at Buffalo Hills however today was very slow as the group ahead had 4 golfers and there was only 2 of us. Had a good first round until we caught up to them. Would have been nice if they had offered to let us play through or if there was a course marshall which we did not see one. This is a beautiful course and would recommend it to anyone
Great course friendly staff
Course and staff were great. Although the 4some in front of us held up the game by over an hour. We had 4 2somes held up after the 4some began play on hole 10. A Marshall should have been out to move them along.
The beer cart sat parked by hole 5 in the shade. Didn’t say anything to us just waived as we drove by and then on hole 16 she just drove right by. No wave no hello.
Other than that the day was awesome.
A must play in Kalispell!
If you've never played this course, it's definite a MUST. Don't even hesitate!
Great day for golf
Our round was very enjoyable. The course was not busy and we got out a bit earlier than our time. We played in under 4 hours. Every hole has unique challenges. This is a must play every time we are in the area.
Sept 12
A brief thunderstorm delay, but overall a very good experience.
Course conditions were average- greens kind of rough and bumpy; some areas that the irrigation doesn't get too on the fairways (dry spots), and nobody rakes any of the sand traps?? Overall I gave conditions 4 stars as other than these specific things it was pretty good. It is a fun and challenging track, and helps to have some previous course knowledge.
They need a marshall
We love Buffalo Hill Golf Course, BUT found out that playing on a Sunday afternoon in September will be very slow play. We played a foursome behind a twosome and waited on every shot. They finally dropped off and then we played behind three other foursomes the rest of the round. On hole number 10 there were four groups. We really got tired of waiting, but finished out the round just before it got too dark to see. Play was WAY too slow
Fun tree lined course with excellent greens and staff.
We played Buffalo Hills on a very clear but warm day. The opening holes have blind shots in all of them and can cause a bit of a slow start as you really needed to drive up and be sure you were not potentially hitting into someone. The staff did point this out which was helpful but playing it for the first time made it a bit tricky. After the first four holes this all changes and once you find the fifth tees, they are marked well but you tend to not believe them at first. The course then lines up with wonderful sight lines and play moves along fairly well. You had better be fond of evergreens as they line and guard just about every fairway. This adds a beauty as well as a challenge to this course.
The course was in excellent shape. The fairways were well groomed and the greens ran very true and quick. There is also plenty of elevation change in the early and late parts of the round.
The staff were extremely nice from the front desk, starter and cart girl (very important on this hot day). The starter had asked a foursome , who were actually waiting on their fourth player, if they would allow us to tee off ahead since being a twosome. They reluctantly agreed and ended up catching us due to those first four holes being slow because of the blind spots and on holes five and six hit into us as we were leaving the green. Problem fixed by letting them play in front of us the rest of the way for our own safety and of course waited on every shot. Not the cause of the course but one due to the seldom encountered lack of decency and etiquette of golfers. My only complaint to the course would be the fact that this foursome played with three sets of clubs. Never hve seen this allowed any where else we have played.
That being said and our fixing the issue if we were ever to be in Kalispell again we would gladly tee it up at Buffalo Hill as it is a very worthy course and now we have some basic knowledge of how to attack it.
Beautiful course, cart paths awful
Great course but the cart paths are really bad. They are very uneven, jarring.
