Not a cloud in the sky !
Was happy to see Y'all blew the leaves aside !
This course makes you shoot more tactically ! Lots of fun and not easy at all - I enjoy it more each time I play here - I’ll be back ~
Michigan Feb Golf :)
You are golfing outside in MI in FEB w a cart. So happy they opened ! Sun was shining and warm : ) for the time of Year the greens were awesome better than some courses in the summer. I would volunteer to blow the leaves BC you lose balls and you want to keep pace up so you keep rolling BUT You know you didn’t lose your ball - just buried under one leaf perfectly hidden. That’d be my only wish if I had to wish something - otherwise super nice people employ the place and it was a zero stress kinda day and fun for everyone there.
Impressed
Had played this course multiple times over the years and really enjoyed the layout. A few years ago, It seemed that lack of maintenance had taken a toll on the greens and tee boxes. Yesterday I was really impressed with how pure / clean the greens rolled , keep in mind it’s currently Dec. The staff has always been great !!! I would recommend this course for any skill level.
Good condition
This course was better than what I expected. The course was a little short but the condition was good. If you hesitate to go there, I recommend you to get it.
Couldn't Pay Me To Golf Here Again
The course condition was nice. No problem with the staff, or the amenities. The problem started when we got to hole 5. We had gotten done with hole 4 and rolled up to 5 seeing 4 groups waiting to tee off. We waited a solid 30 mins between shots from there. So overall 9 holes took 3 1/2 hours. So making the turn from 9-10, a few of the groups dropped off and we didnt stop at the club house for drinks and food hoping to get in front of the slower groups. Made it through 10, and 11 just fine. Coming up on 12 everything slowed down again. There was a group in front of us that was extremely rude. There was a blind hole, think it was 14, going up a hill then back down. We knew the pace was slow, so my brother and I waited about 15-20 minutes to tee off, because we couldn't see over the hill that was about 240 yards to the top of it. So I hit, started driving up the hill and see my ball fly right by me going back the opposite way. The group in front of us, hit my ball back towards us. After one of the gentlemen flipping me off, and calling me everything under the sun, my brother and I picked up our balls and decided to leave. Pace of play way too slow, no sightlines to see people in front of you. It's not worth it at all. Overall, not a great experience
Difficult
Condition of the course wasnt the best. Tee boxes were tore up, didn't look like they have been rotated at all. Bunkers were also in rough shape, doesn't appear that anyone has taken after them all year. Fairways and greens we not too bad.
A lot of holes require a layup off the tee. A medium/long iron or 5 wood. Requires a straight shot off the tee box a lot of the time or you are OB.
Would golf it again, but it's about $10-15 over priced imo.
New manager improvements!
Great improvements since last year, greens roll quick and more enjoyable with the trimming of trees. But Tee boxes still need a good leveling.
Watch Out for the Back Nine
This is a pretty nice course, with the exception of about 3 funky holes (4, 10, & 12 are pretty ridiculous). The back nine is much tougher than the front. I played 2 days in a row and each day I shot 8-10 shots worse on the back nine and lost about 6 balls each day. Many of the holes are pretty narrow, with danger on both sides. The greens are in nice shape, as are most of the fairways, although the areas around the cart paths can be pretty patchy. Some of the cart paths need to be replaced. I play this course because it is convenient to my sister-in-law’s lake house and it is a decent track and reasonably priced.
Good Course
The course itself was good, course needs policing or less tee times, took over 5 hours because we had to wait on every shot for the group in front of us, who were waiting on the group in front of them and so on.
Nice course but a lot of geese and droppings galore on a few greens.
Just Okay
Played this course several times over the years. It has been in better shape. It was a decent value with a coupon. Would never pay full price for this course. The tee boxes could use some help. The cart paths are worse than bombed-out roads in a war zone. The greens were in very good shape though.
I flew through the front nine playing by myself. On the back nine I caught up to a few really slow foursomes. The pace of play got so bad that I skipped holes 14 and 15 and went straight to the 16th tee and finished out from that point.
If you’re in the area and have a coupon, I would say go for it.
excellent course
no problem with course at all. In great shape considering lack of rain. my issue is with golf now. I booked online 2 days before playing at a rate of $33.30 for 2 golfers and $28.00 for myself (senior). When arriving at course, they had no record of it been paid online so we all had to pay a reduced rate of $28.00. Yet my credit card was charged $73.58 for 3 golfers. The gentleman at Whispering Pines was kind enough to re-imburse me $28.00 and credit my account for another $28.00. But my credit card was still charged $73.58. I will no longer use golf now.
Very nice course, good rate, and great layout around the houses
