Vargo Golf
Vargo golf doing what Vargo Golf does, takes over courses and runs them into the ground, This was a nice course a few years ago, now it's a dump, Stay away, stay far far away
Course needs a lot of attention
At some point in time, this course must have been beautiful. Not now. Maybe the worse shape I’ve ever seen a course.
Yikes
This course has gone dramatically downhill. The fairways are in horrible condition, grass in the rough in bad need of cutting and sand traps hard as a rick and over grown with weeds. Cart paths are in dire need of repaving. Very disappointing as this was a beautiful course just a few years ago.
Terribly neglected course
This probably was a nice course in a nice housing development at one time. Now the houses are beautiful but the course has been neglected for years, and it shows it. See the image of fairway #6. This was one of the worst, but many were similar... totally unplayable. Everything else was also falling apart including the cart paths (full of holes with orange warning markers), the hazards... ponds and bunkers were overgrown and neglected. Even the golf carts seemed like originals from 10-20 yrs ago... cracked up and dirty with the loudest engines I have ever heard and clutches that screeched at every start-up. All the blue & white tee boxes were combined into one... no doubt to save maintenance. The course itself is jammed between rows of nice houses... very tight with ruined fairways that send the ball bouncing in all directions. Hardly a single lie was playable. I mean it was BAD. Not sure where they are spending the green fees, because it's not to maintain the course. We will never be back. So sorry.
Fairways are in poor condition. The grass was better in the rough. Greens were fine. Golf carts need maintenance,, cracked windshields, poor acceleration from stop. Cart pathswere falling apart.
Good for the money
Affordable and super friendly staff! Some of the greens and fairways were a mess, but if you’re just looking for a good time, it’s perfect.
Costs way too much, new ownership jacked up price ( although I believe all area courses charge too much) … course is tough and tight, years of underwatering and lack of maintenance have taken a toll, hope the new owners put the time and monies needed into it.
Fairways are burnt
First time playing here in 2 years and will not go back. The fairways are in terrible condition and burnt on many holes. The pace of play was horrible. Finally, we were asked to wait 20 minutes in the fairway on the 18th hole because a wedding was going on at the first tee. Don’t waste your time or money on this terrible golf course !
Sad decline
I’ve played in here in the past and always considered it one of the “nicer” courses in my area. When I had some family come in from out of town I insisted we play there to shoot a nicer course but that’s not what we found this time. Patchy brown fairways. Trees overgrown blocking parts of the cart path. We even lost two balls in rough areas because there were yards and yards of just dead grass piles. Carts need to badly be washed. The staff was really nice but the touches that show pride and care are not present here
Challenging layout needs restoration
I hope someone is able to form an investment group and sink some money into improving this course. I have no idea what their finances are like from other revenue sources, but it seems this is a great design of a course that could really use someone making a financial commitment to restore the course to what must have been its former glory. As far as playing, it is tight, with narrow tree-lined fairways that will get you in trouble if you are hitting it sideways. Sloping and winding fairways make for challenging drives and approach shots. A great place to take an assessment of your long game. The greens would very dangerous if they were restored, as they are quite sloped also. WP also sits in a very nice community, which let you see the potential here.
