Grand Island Golf
I golfed this course on a Wednesday morning. I used my Big Red Golf tours book so I only had to pay the $20 cart fee for 18.
Weather was perfect and I was the first one there at 8. Nice driving range. I went off at 845. There was one guy in front of me but I never was an issue. By the time I hit the back nine I could see most of the front was fairly busy.
The course was in excellent condition, (I think one green has a spot toward the edge), The greens ran medium, but very true -- not a lot of contour. Except for #11.
The course has some bunkers and water comes in to play on 4 and 9, but not too bad. I played from the whites, and found it to be a fair challenge.
I used a cart, but this course would be easy to walk.
Denver Trip
My wife and I stopped here on the way home from Denver. As we arrived I noticed they were aerating the greens. We were told they did the front 9 so we could play the back twice if we wanted to. After completing the 1st 9 we were told we could play the front if we wanted to even though the greens would be a little bumpy. The course was pretty wide open and in great shape. The greens were soft but pretty fast. It was a little tough for my wife as there was quite a bit of carry between the tee boxes and the fairway plus they force you to carry rough to get on to the green. The fairway ends and you've got 30 yards of rough. I enjoyed it.
