Poor Interactions with staff
The course is ok. The greens are small and the pace of each green was considerably different, so putting was a challenge, even on a dry day.
My interactions with the staff were very below average. Our round was scheduled to start at 8:04. The staff arrives at 7:50 to open the clubhouse and informs us that we need to match up with the other twosome that booked the time with us, though we were the first time of the day and followed by multiple two-somes. We happily said ok. However, they didn't have any carts ready until 8:04 and delivered two carts to course regulars with tee times after ours before us. The other two-some we were supposed to pair with just started. The regulars with the times behind us then proceeded to glare at us the whole round to pick up the pace of play, even though it was clearly the other grouping in front of us. We played in 3hr, 15m. Hardly deserving of this.
Throughout the round, there were several staff mowing, which doesn't bother me on a cheap tee time on Monday morning. Some moved out of the way for us to play through, others just waved at us and kept doing their thing, Others did nothing to get out of the way or acknowledge us. On hole 9 (the fairway runs along the top of the hill and down the hill is a large, open valley of rough), the mower turns to drive off to the very right edge of the rough (50 yards from the fairway and about 180 yards from the box). I fly my drive 250 down the left edge of the fairway, 100+ yards from him. The guy on the mower yells at me, flips me off, drives his mower to about 10 yards in front of me, and screams at me for putting his life in danger.. I was completely ready to yell fore if need be when I hit the drive.. This staff needs to practice consistency if they are going to expect me to respect this kind of treatment.
Not returning.
Challenging Course
The course itself is in excellent condition. A few spots that was slushy wet with bad drainage but nothing that was really in the way. The only disappointing thing is their putting green and driving range. Putting green can’t be used. The driving range is frustrating cause there is no good place to hit. It looks like there hasn’t been seeding done to repair anything in years. No t ideal for warming up properly. But the course itself was in great condition and very well maintained.
Dirt “BUTT” Course
I am new to golf, but I have worked as a beer cart girl for 3 years so I know all about pace of play and course respectfulness. I played at this course with 7 of my friends in two foursomes. We were rudely interrupted on the 15th hole and asked to leave the course with no explanation. There was no warning or reason behind being kicked off. We are new to golf so our pace was a little slower than most, but we were very respectful and let groups at a faster pace pass us. If you are looking for a course to go to to have fun, don’t go here. Waste of money!
Okay course, friendly staff, course layout is garbage and brings the whole experience down
Tons of walking and confusing directions for holes 4th hole is very fun okay course might recommend if I had a better experience
Good fairways tough rough.
The rough was so thick we lost balls in it. Too thick. Greens were fast.
Great course
Awesome course outside of Lincoln! Way better then any Lincoln public course and way cheaper! Staff was extremely friendly! They did have a kids golf camp going but they worked us in! I will be back
Slow play, too long of rough
The pace of play was horrible. Multiple 5 and 6 somes playing SLOW in front of us. Good luck finding your ball if you hit it in the rough! And even better luck hitting it out. I dont know what’s wrong, but the rough is too thick/long. Also, inconsistent green speeds/conditions. Wonderful layout though, just wish it was better mowed.
Upset Pro Staff
When we arrived for our tee time, we were met with extreme rudeness and implied threats about our round. There was rain in the forecast and the pro shop attendant had a terrible attitude about us playing, and told us as soon as the weather rolled in he would kick us off the course and alert GolfNow that we played the full course, so that we couldn’t get any refund. When asked if we could get a voucher for the holes we don’t play, he said “you paid GolfNow, not us. I’m not giving you a rain check.”
Nice course, but the attendant was beyond rude. We had to leave after 9 holes and I didn’t feel I should have to fight to get my money back for 9 holes we didn’t get to play. No plans of returning. Play elsewhere in Lincoln to find friendlier and a more accommodating staff.
Great little gem of a course
Fun course. Got some fun holes with challenging layouts also some holes you can get after. It's in very nice shape. Go play hidden valley!
