course level
This course is for all level of golfers. Some challenging holes and some are easy. Putting greens are challenging.
Fun course to play
This is a nice course and also enjoy playing their other course (eagle hills). Tara has a lot of short par 4s that are challenging. Overall a good course to play and it was in pretty good shape for the time of year it was played.
Pace of play?
The course did not seem to monitor pace of play. The group in front of us did not show any sense of urgency on the course. On the back 9, we waited on every hole, many times it appeared to us that they were not being slowed by anything in front of them. We never saw a Ranger on the course, but did see 2 or 3 guys waiting for returning carts. Maybe one of them could drive through the course once in a while to look for groups with big gaps in front of them. Course was in good shape!
Good condition
It's been a rough winter and on a nice 75 degree day with a lot of wind... I honestly wasn't expecting much from the course. But I was pleasantly surprised! The greens were in decent shape, were quick and the sand had all been redone. I was very pleased with the course condition!
Good Value (But Poor Etiquette)
Your experience is going to likely be dictated by events out of your control, such as the wind, crowd, etc. Played here on a unseasonably warm day in November and it was very enjoyable. However, we played behind a 5-some on the back nine that slowed things down considerably. (They didn't let us play through!) Also, played here back in April and it was exceedingly windy so very uncomfortable. Overall good value, but you may experience some poor etiquette.
Always a good experience at Tara Hills
Golfed here on Labor Day and found the course to be in good shape. The rough was long enough to affect your swing and the greens had plenty of break in them. Speed of play was normal for a holiday weekend.
Nice, but paths need fixed
The course itself was in really good shape. The only thing needing help was the cart paths.
Good experience for the money
This a nice course. A little over 6000yds from the back tees. The 1st and 18th holes are difficult driving holes. Other than that, the course is challenging and easy to walk. Well maintained for a public course.
Too slow and no rangers!
Very simply, put rangers out on the course and see that they keep up with time and move people at a 4 hour pace!
Enjoyable day. smooth play on a Sunday
Nice course. pace of play was great. If I had one complaint it would be the fairways. They were to long to be considered a great course.
Very slow greens
Hadn't played there for quite some time and thought we'd give it a try...not very impressed. Overall, the course is in good condition, but the greens were very slow and inconsistent. We are very lucky in Omaha to have several good quality courses to play for a very reasonable price...so there's no way I would play Tara again for $29!
course was In great shape.
Although the weather was not very good I had fun.. after all I was golfing and not at work.....
I play here often.
The greens are usually firm, smooth and fast, but this time they were bumpy and slow.
Great Value
I enjoy this course. It's relatively short and wide open but is fairly well maintained (although, the greens had recently been punched on last outing). The difficulty at this course comes primarily from the greens, which are large but also have lots of contour. So, there are lots of breaks that can be deceptively quick when putting. Overall, it's a fun course and is usually one of the more economical courses in town - great for new golfers. Staff has always been friendly and pace of play hasn't been too slow, although I usually play during the week.
Pretty good value
Friendly staff, cheap beer. They have GPS on the carts, but it wasn't working when we played. Overall nice course.
great course
I always like playing at Tara. Its not the hardest or the easiest so I frequent it quite often. Nice staff. Well kept. Keep it up!
Allways fun , great price , my favorite course
As always had a good experience. Couldn't beat the $20 tee time on golfnow.
Sand traps were all dug out. A few sand traps were filled with new white sand. Great improvement. Even with construction of sand traps no distractions.
For being November course was in good condition.
Great course for the weekend golfer , not easy , but not discouraging.
Cold beer , friendly staff.
