Typical NH 9 holer
A lot of kooky holes
Greens were good
Fairways ok
A good cheap 9 hole course
Very Nice 9-Hole Course!!
I played here for the first time on Sat 18 June 2022 with a large group of people. The course was a lot more than I expected! It's a little hilly and a lot of woods to sides of fairways. It was not a course I'd want to walk due to the elevation chages! It is in very good condition with exception of a couple greens which had some thinned out (basically dead) small patches of grass on them making them quite uneven & rough in spots. Besides this, the holes were all at a good length for an average player (mostly par 4's but also some 3's & at least one 5). It would be quite a challenge for a brand new player & perhaps a bit simple for a "scratch" golfer but for an average mid-handicap, casual player it was quite adequate! The group I was with had been divided into 4 person teams & we played a scramble format. My team finished the 9 holes with a score of even par. It started raining on us approximately the 6th hole so from that point on... There was very little roll on the ball after a hit once it had landed. Not the golf course's fault as that would happen anywhere on wet turf! I really enjoyed playing it and WILL return to play again!
There was a "beer cart" out on the course when we were playing which I found surprising (not sure why...) but, a pleasant surprise. The Clubhouse is small & everything is on one level... I.E. Pro Shop (adequately stocked with numerous items from ball markers, balls, & tees to clothing to full sets of clubs with bags! They ARE an official Ping dealer including professional fittings!), an area where one checks-in for tee times & gets cart key, the kitchen (grill) and a small "bar" where one can get a drink. The area for people to sit and socialize at "the 19th hole" is a little small but had a warm, "lodge" type feeling to it. Reminded me a little of a ski lodge. They have huge 4k HD TVs mounted on walls in the common sitting area which had The U.S. Open tournament on and it was being played right then in real time & the live coverage was being broadcast on TV. Also, there is a small outdoor deck with pub tables just off main seating area but the rain continued so our group remained indoors. All the other people present... Both staff & other golfers who were NOT with our group were all very kind, friendly, social, & helpful! Finally, they do have an adequate driving range that slopes uphill & is quite long. FYI about range... There are no hitting mats with rubber tees! One hits off the turf or, if you desire to tee up the ball at range... Bring some tees with you!
Overall, a very nice little course that exceeded my expectations! It is family owned and not a big, impersonal, corporate course (big "Bonus" for that)! The pricing was very reasonable, nice amenities, very social/friendly/down to Earth people, and a 9 hole course that (as stated) was very nice & exceeded my expectations! A challenge yes, but not to point of impossible to play due to difficulty nor is it a course so easy to play that an average golfer will finish 6 - 8 under par!
I recommend it & I'll return! I really enjoyed playing here (but could have done without the rain)!
Avoid Gary
Gary was a negative soul, put us down for using golf now app while we were checking in. While making the turn, I tried calling ahead for several burgers and he was overwhelmed, he was distraught and made sure we knew. He had to hand the phone to someone to take our order. Besides that course in decent shape. Price could be better as its only a 9 hole course.
Very Impressed
Tee boxes, fairways and greens all in nice shape. You can't beat the green fees in the lakes region unless you play a much smaller par 3 executive course. Definitely recommend this course. I will be there many times this season.
