Sad, unforgiving little course
Goodness, what an unpleasant little course. Out of 9 holes, six were blind, with greens hidden behind slopes or around awkward doglegs. Conditions were sad, with scruffy greens, long fairway grass, and big holes in the fairways. The course has virtually no rough; if you miss the fairway your ball is eaten by unkempt, thick forest. I lost many balls. The one water hazard is also hidden until you go looking for where your ball landed, and it's dark and scary, a Steven King pond perhaps inhabited by dark slimy, golf-ball-eating monsters. Ninth green, a par 3, is so sloped that if you perchance hit the green the ball rolls right off into a sand trap. All in all a sad, frustrating experience that I will not be repeating soon. The only bright spot? It's cheap at $15. But you get what you pay for.
Great turf on the greens
The superintendent knows what he is doing, the greens are fantastic. Holes 1 and 9 have fantastic shaping in the greens. The rest of the holes leave a lot to be desired. The two par 5s (3 and 7) are not good (that's being polite). Just not a really good course. The main caveat I'd offer to this review is that a new owner too over the course about a year or so ago. Maybe he has some plans to turn it around.
