Situated midway between Belvidere and Oxford, Apple Mountain Golf & Country Club has been recognized as one of New Jersey's must-play courses. The course was built on an apple orchard, providing fragrant apple blossoms in the spring and colorful foliage in the fall. The unique design was built on a hillside, which in itself presents many challenges to golfers. The dramatic elevation changes from pin to green present difficult lies on the approach shot. There is no sand on the golf course, but with water on 11 holes, and demanding greens, sand traps will hardly be missed. A local magazine dubbed Apple Mountain Golf & Country Club's signature 17th hole one of the most perfect in the state. This par-6 hole was once the site of a ski slope. The hole doglegs down a mountain with treacherously positioned trees along the right.

Applemountain is Great
The course offers spectacular views of the Delaware Water Gap which you can see while you are playing. The price to play 18 oles with cart, using gollfnow, was $44.00 per person. The tee boxex, fairways, and greens were in excellent shape. The hilliness of the course gives you a challenge to overcome, especially on the back nine when you start ot feel it. The 632 yard par 5 is quite a challenge but is reachable. I was on the green in 4 which for me was a great accomplishment. After the round we went to the bar and restaurant. Food was good drinks were made properly and the staff was extremely friendly.
I would recommend this course for a great round and a great day.
Hilly Wooded course
I had heard about this course and I wasn',t surprised by the slope extremes, The fairways are basically grass cut shorter then the rest so the ball hardly sits up. The greens are well maintained although the elevation makes it difficult to pitch and stop the ball. Most greens are elevated or below the fairway..The course is tight and wooded so keeping the ball near the fairway is essential. I recommend this course to the casual player who isn't serious about maintaining his usual game.
Beautiful Coure
Maybe made better by an absolutely gorgeous day weather-wise, but some of the views of the surrounding countryside were amazing. I liked the old apple trees dotted along some of the fairways. The course is past its prime but has a lot of character. Elevation changes presented a real challenge on a lot of holes as I'm used to playing relatively flat courses.
Conditions were good, greens were fast on this sunny breezy hot day. Will be back soon.
Holes close together
Beautiful views . Carts very rough. Holes close together. Got hit on twice. No one in clubhouse at turn for a drink. No bathroom facilities or water on course.
Can be a ball swallower!
Beautiful course, very scenic. The greens were in great shape. We went the day after heavy rains so the entire course was soggy and slow, no fault of theirs. Many holes have very narrow fairways with trees on either side, it blind curves and hills. Lost more than a few balls on this course! Really a good course for the price however, would recommend to anyone!
Bang for your Buck
Good course - challenging, but not horribly so. Nice vistas from higher tees and greens. Some greens sloped, making putting interesting. Considering what you get for what you pay - yeah, this is worth the trip.
in good shape.......especially in december
Course is in very good shape...........the greens are rolling true
A great experience on country course..You'll love it.
This course overlooks the Delaware Water Gap and the Netcong Mountain range. Beautiful views as you play. The course is maintained and a great deal at their prices...A must to play.
Fast greens too many leaves
It was one of the fastest greens I played lately but there were too many leaves and we could not find our balls even in the fairways. The layout of the course is good to average. The course was pretty empty I guess 50 is too cold for some people to play golf.
Great mountain course with some options.
Staff was extremely friendly. Some tee Boxes needed some tending. Greens were in excellent condition and very challenging. The views were Beautiful. I wish I was there two weeks earlier for the peak color of the leaves, The Food was also Great. For the price if I lived in the area I would play often. A few holes had different options. 9th hole could be a par 3 or 4. Another you could play as a par 5 or 6. Two different tee boxes on another par 3. Lots of Fun to play.
Apple Picking
I really enjoy playing here because of the open views and open fairways. Lot's of up and downs which keeps it fun. We also went apple picking on some of the holes, which was fun.
The trees were pretty
This is a very pretty place which happens to have a "golf course" situated within. Very hilly, fairways were patchy and more blind greens than you can imagine. Contrived comes to mind. Yardages were very suspect and the tee box, well a hammer would be useful in putting your tee in the ground. But on a lovely fall day with the changing colors of the trees the views were breathtaking. Paid very little for green fees so it was very well priced.
Bring some old golf balls, enjoy the views and relatively faced pace of play and don't keep score or get frustrated by the conditions. If you can do that have a lot of fun at Apple Mountain.
Fairway is narrow. Greens are elevated. Need to hit exact distance.
It is not for the person who enjoys a wide open fairway or such. Many greens are elevated and need to carry exact distance to the greens. Good course to play once or twice a year.
Take a moment to take in the views!
I was lucky enough to get paired up with a 3 some from south Jersey who were amazed at the wonderful hillside views of the Water Gap and surrounding area. Being from North Jersey, I found myself taking the scenery for granted. I started looking around with my playing partners and am very thankful that I was reminded how magnificent the views were. Great fairways, very fast greens and some very tough pin positions. I was a single that was lucky enough to get put with 3 "flatlanders" from South Jersey who were great to play with and pointed out the things I was missing.
nice greens and fairways.
Poor cart paths and digging with heavy machinery on first hole, as well as meandering grounds crew and no beer cart offset by good weather, fast open play and decent greens.
NOT 1 SANDTRAP!!
Construction being done on hole 1..there's not 1 sandtrap on the entire course! Which I found extremely odd..Tee box areas are all chopped up and the fairways and ruff are the same height! The greens
however are in decent shape.
This course has beautifull views
The greens were fine, but the fairways and tee boxes were essentially non existent - they were just weeds mowed. The cart paths made one feel as if you were off-roading - very rough and mostly just dirt and gravel
Course comparable with cost
Course is easy for lower handicap player, tee boxes are weed infested and poor condition. Course has no sand traps at all although there are depression with grass grown in representing areas where sand was once there. The views around the course are great with Apple Trees and deer wandering around eating on fallen apples.
Was in great condition
Very friendly staff. Course was well maintained. Outstanding views.
