Green Knoll Golf Course
About
Green Knoll Golf Course in Bridgewater Township has a varied terrain that provides a unique character to the course. The course sprawls across gently rolling hills dappled with mature trees. Much of the course's challenges are a result of the tricky contours. Some of the elevation changes are dramatic but there are also some subtle ones, which can be just as tricky. Further accuracy is required to maneuver the tight fairways. There are definitely challenges in store throughout but overall the golf course's playability appeals to all skill levels, from novices to avid golfers. It measures a manageable 6,443 yards from the back tees. In addition to the 18-hole course, there is also a nine-hole pitch-and-putt course. Green Knoll is one of five golf courses operated by the Somerset County Park Commission.

Tee off delay caused by shortage of carts!!
Our tee time was pushed back by 20
minutes because there weren’t enough golf carts for our twosomes to go out. That was disappointing because we weren’t able to finish our round due to darkness as a result of cart shortage.
Extremely Disappointed
The fairway/ rough was bone dry. Dead grass covers almost every hole except for the greens. Course still charges full price in spite of these dry conditions making the round miserable. Vending machine in the pro shop gave me a drink that had clearly been opened and drank from before I purchased it. Pace of play was unacceptable. For the price, it is not worth it.
Unplayable
Only watering greens, fairways are 100% burnt. Do not play, honestly, the course should be closed until we get rain.
Course falls well behind the other county courses. Only three ball washes available with swamp water. Tee boxes in rough shape. Sand in some bunkers, dirt in others
Seems to suffer from a lack of attention.

Greens Excellent
In spite of very hot and dry conditions locally over the past few weeks, the greens were in great shape. This allowed for approach shots to stay on the green and prevented 4 foot putts from rolling 20 feet past the cup.
The rough was dry and brittle, as expected. But the fairways were in very good shape.
Pleasant Surprise
Somehow I have never played this course over the years but was very happy I finally did. Course is a nice mix of holes with some elevation changes in nice shape. Greens are rolling nicely and in great shape.
First time in a long time
Hasn’t played here in over a year (live in another county) but always enjoy the course. While it was twilight we got stuck behind a ground of 4 high school/college age kids who slowed us to the point of cutting 3-4 holes off what we could get in before sunset - this is not an exaggeration. Holes ahead groups were backed up but they had no urgency whatsoever without anyone immediately ahead of them.
Course is great value for the money, fairways and greens are in better condition than many public courses around.
