Melreese Golf Course at International Links
About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 03/2023.
The Melreese golf course at International Links is where Tiger Woods made his first professional appearance in south Florida. The championship course, which has six sets of tees, features rolling fairways and large, undulating greens. It is a tight golf course featuring five lakes that come into play on 14 holes. To make up for the damages caused by Hurricane Andrew, the golf course has been outfitted with replanted tall live oak and palm trees that can affect shots. There are also nearly 100 sand bunkers present on the course. The Melreese course's signature hole is the par-4 14th, which is nicknamed "Heartbreak Ridge." It has water alongside the right side of the fairway all the way from the tee to the green, and it requires an approach shot past water to an island green. The International Links facility also offers a lighted driving range and putting green.

No Rain Check when heavy rain and thunderstorms
The golf course is too expensive for the design. We just played up to hole 10 when the rain starts and heavy lighting. Too dangerous to continue playing and we decided to stop the game. My partner and I went to the Pro Shop to ask for a Rain-Check but for my surprise the attendant said that they don’t provide Rain-Checks. I paid over $200 for two players for just 10 holes. Incredible! I’m not going to return to this golf course ever again.
Thank you
Luis
Links
Greens were still rough from aeration but course was in great shape otherwise.
Golf Should Not Take 5 Hours
Pace of play was ridiculously slow and nobody was monitoring the foursome that had 2 open holes in front of it for the last 12 holes.
Good for the money
Thru the years I have played this course many times and this was probably not the best.
T boxes where not in good shape as were the greens and I remember eating one of the best burgers in Miami. Thats also gone. The restaurant was full of flies even with the AC on; but again it was good for the money.
