Par 3, 150 yds over water Photo submitted by corey4826799 on 08/18/2013
nice course but slow and overpriced.
Slow pace of play.. Course is nice and in good shape. Small greens and lots of "dog legs". In my opinion it is over priced at regular rates, but deals online and at off time make it reasonable.
unreasonable
Course in very good condition the day we played. In my opinion, playability is different than condition. In my 41 years of golfing all over this country, I've always made a point of avoiding "these" course set ups. Blistered a drive on 2, that missed the fairway by twelve feet, had to wedge out from a buried lie. Same thing on the par 5 fourth hole. Third shot bunkered into trap face, had to remove shoes and empty excess sand. I could go on and on about the unplayability of this track, and how I was penalized for hitting many good shots. If masochism is your thing, then this place is for you.
Lovely course
Interesting and challenging fairways. played as a 2-some behind a VERY SLOW 2-some for a long round. Greens very fast, fairways nice and soft, rough extremely rough and DEEP. Just off the fairway you couldn't even see your ball. You had to be right on top of it.
Challenging course
Fast greens, tough rough, interesting lay out. All the greens well protected by well kept bunkers, an enjoyable round. Heavy rain prevented us from finishing the 18th. I will definitely return
Great conditions and layout.
Great course to play since they opened up to the public. Its no comparison to any courses close to there. Looking forward to go back to play again.
Next to Pine Valley, the best course in South Jersey
What a terrific golf course. The conditions were excellent. The fairways were immaculate, as were the greens, and the rough was penal. It's one of those golf courses where you're getting beat up by the difficulty, but you don't care because it's such a great design. It's definitely worth a once in a while splurge!
great course
This is a shot makers dream! So let the distance fool you, Accuracy is a must, or be prepared to deal with thick, stubborn and gnarly rough. With slick and firm greens, shots will not hold if not struck from the fairways! The course was in excellent condition, with friendly staff made this a wonderful experience! I will definitely play this course again, and if I lived in this area, I would become a member just because of the course alone!; everything else is a bonus...
Fantastic Course
A real gem of a course, beautifully kept, only 6,500 yds but challenging with a premium on shot making. Greens are very fast. Didn't dine in the new grill/restaurant but it looks great with al fresco dining and picturesque views of the 14th tee and 18th green. The staff was courteous and helpful.
Unbelievable course!
This golf course is amazing. Great conditions, greens fast and difficult, narrow fairways and bunkers galore. If you miss the green be ready to come up huge with your short game. This course is a public gem in south jersey and well worth the difference in price with some other courses in area. With that being said, I couldn't believe the overall dissatisfaction with the staff. Not friendly, not interested in you at all. I sat at the counter and checked in and they handed me my slip and that was it. No instruction, no guidance, nothing, not even the pin position. We walked around aimlessly for a few minutes trying to find a starter or someone to help us and could only find a bag boy. If they are looking for new perspective members, they are not doing a good job of selling it. Being a veteran of nice golf courses and how I expect to be treated, I was treated better playing a chip and putt. But the golf course sells itself, well worth a round for anybody 18 handicap or below,
Quality conditions
This course was in a great condition. The greens were fast and the fairways are narrow making it a tough track (especially for those first time players). Although I loved the course, I think their normal rates are overpriced. You shouldn't have to pay $125 on the weekend to get a round in.
A Friday afternoon golf experience
It was a sunny, windy ,Friday afternoon. The course was not crowded, and as a twosome we were able to play in just over 3 hours. The course is in good shape. The greens were not terribly fast, having just been sanded a week ago. I will play there again when the opportunity presents.
It was wonderful. All was top shelfthe staff was as nice as they could be. Perfect layout. Greens were fast but true. Sand traps are difficult but ex.
It was enjoyable the course was in great shape staff couldn't of been nicer. Layout was a little challenging but fair. Golf now is the best. Great prices and convenient
fun, challenging part 3s
Excellent condition of greens enable to test true ability of putting. Part 3s are challenging but fun. Excellent course. Definitely play again if I find good deals.
Challenging course poor staff
There was no one monitoring the tee off times. We had to wait 15 minutes past our tee time to go off and were rudly rushed by the angry golfers behind us at the first tee.
The conditions of the course were very good considering all the rain we got the past few days.
After the 9th hole we went into the club house to try and get some food and a beer. Since we were very hungry and thirsty. The staff that worked there just gave us a look like what are you doing in here. When we went up to the bar and asked for a few beers he very rudly asked "are you guys members?" we were not and he coninued to tell us that only members could eat there and get beer from the bar. What kind of joke is that they wont accept my money for food or a freekin beer!? We felt very disrespected and we asked if there was any other place a non member could get a little food or even a gatorade. He said no sorry there is a wawa down the road.
What kind of place is this denying guests food who paid good money to use your course. The place is bankrupt for gods sake and they are denying revenue lol
I will never go to this course again because of the disrespect and stupid policy's they have. Which is a shame because the course it self is beautiful and challenging and a lot of fun to play.
Great POtential but not quite there!
The course is well designed, tight, hilly and challenging. Right now they are in he process if airyfing the fairways and they are still contending with recent rains but I would say they are about 2 weeks away from being ready. Between then and now it is not worth the premium rate.
TSaldancer
It was still too early in the year for it to be maintained well with all the snow we had. I would like to try it later when the course came to life
Very Nice Course
Found this course in Very Good Condition, Traps were White Sand and in great condition. Fairways full and Greens fast. This course had scenic par 3's Surrounded by Sand. Beautiful place to play.
VERY NICE COURSE
course is a great layout, fast greens, deep bunkers, even though we played there is 26 degrees and 35 mph winds we enjoyed what the course had to offer,on the down side, i booked a threesome and the third couldnt make it, i asked if it would be possible if we played an extra 9 holes which would have equaled a threesome, they turned me down and blamed it on GOLF NOW, WHICH WAS A TERRIBLE PUBLIC RELATIONS MOVE, ! SO ALTHOUGH I LOVED THE COURSE, I PROBABLY WILL NOT RETURN, PEOPLE THERE LEFT A SOUR TASTE IN MY MOUTH!
Great course
Woodcrest is one of the nicest courses (public or private) in south jersey with its hilly (for south jersey) terrain. Even though they have recently gone public, the course remains in excellent condition. We played on 11/20, and it was actually in better condition than when I played in summer. They have repaired areas that needed attention, and the greens were immaculate. While we were playing, there were a lot of maintenance crew members laying new sod, removing trees, etc. It's very nice to see they are still willing to invest in the course. I will definitely be back next season, especially with some great golfnow rates they offer.
Super Course.
Bring your A game as course is every bit the 134 slope from the whites. Greens were firm, super smooth, and a pleasure to putt. Course conditions very good everywhere. First time playing here, and will go back very soon especially with the GolfNow specials.
