One of many scenic holes at Spring Meadow Photo submitted by Cory3302115 on 06/23/2014
spring conditions
greens still a little bumpy from aeration, aside from that the course was in fairly good shape. Pace was excellent, Will be back, it is a good local course.
very nice course with slow aerated and wet greens
always well kept, just came on a day when the greens were recently aerated and did not allow a true roll. Recent rains slowed things down some as well. A slow group in front of us (4 walkers who spent too much time on each green) caused us to skip 2 holes and then circle back to play them later in the day.
Good day out
The course was in good shape. Fairways were nice and plush and the greens were in good shape and quick despite being aerated.
Aeration of course and greens happening
Aeration course affects play of game. Putting was difficult. Had we non we wouldn’t have played.
Challenging course, specifically the cart paths
The layout of the course is interesting and challenging. The greens are fast and hole placement is not easy. The tee boxes are simply dirt. The absence of grass on most of the course is the challenge. The cart paths are so bad. The carts themselves are great. The staff is great. With just a few major changes this course could be exceptional.
Subpar condition but a decent value
Tee boxes were in rough shape, and not much grass in the fairways. More pebbles than sand in the bunkers, but the greens were nice. The condition of this course has been much improved in recent years, but today was a reminder of Spring Meadow of the past (minus the goose crap!) Hopefully it's just an early season thing, and it will return to the condition I've gotten used to lately.
Awesome greens
The fairways and greens were In fantastic condition. Tee boxes need some work. Otherwise it was an excellent day
Course review
The course was very good , not perfect but we are coming off winter .
Rough shape even for winter
Hard to justify paying $60 for a course that had little to no grass on every tee box. Halfway house closed no drinks or anything only positive was we got out early and didn’t run into any pace problems
Returned back to an old favorite, loved it.
I hadn't played here in years, but it used to be my most frequent course about 15 years ago. Seeing a good price on GolfNow was the inspiration to return and I'm glad I did.
Rain for a few hours up to my tee time had made the lower parts of the course take water, and the rain continued for 2 holes into my round. There was a silver lining in those clouds, because the cancelation of carts for the day made every other reservation cancel. I had a handcart in my car, said "no problem, do you have a sturdy towel in the pro shop" the staff member returned with a beach towel I could use and return after the round. His comment was to the effect of "Here are 3 balls to use to make up for the cart being canceled, since no refund on a discounted booking that is cheaper than stated rates for walking the course. You have it to yourself, play the holes any order you like."
So I loved my golf outing for 1. Best ratings possible. I played 1-5, hit tee shot(s) to the lower lying 6th fairway, then decided to play #5 again followed by #16 to allow the water more time to drain back into the areas of #6 that were waterlogged. I returned to my 2 driest tee shots from the 6th and played the remainder of the course without encountering any water holding in the playing areas I walked into uphill to the turn, and throughout the rest of the round with the exception of sand traps which had become waterlogged. Holes 16-18 were in perfect condition by the time I finished about 20 minutes from sunset.
I played 20 holes in total in a little over 5 hours unlike any I had ever played.
