One of many scenic holes at Spring Meadow Photo submitted by Cory3302115 on 06/23/2014
Very good
Very good golf course
My overall opinion.
The State owned course is never in good condition but still fun and challenging to play. Staff is super friendly. Price on Golf Now is reasonable if you get a Hot Deal. I'll play when a Tee Time is available but only a Hot Deal on Golf Now. Otherwise I'll stay home.
Nice Layout Poorly Maintained
Spring Meadow has a number of interesting holes and some ordinary ones. This could be a really nice course if the state would put some money into maintaining it.
We played it since it was open while the Monmouth County courses were still closed after a recent snowstorm.
If it were better cared for, it would be worthy as a regular part of our rotation, but as it is, the county courses are a much better value.
Quirky layout, 8th hole needs serious redesign, but fun to play…and that’s what counts
Nice Layout
Some very fun and challenging holes to play. Pretty nicely maintained.
Good Course
I know it's the end of the season and we just experienced some epic rain and wind on a heavily played public course, so I'm not going to be too harsh. The course is in good overall shape. When I pay the full undiscounted rate next season I just hope the tee boxes are in better condition and I think it's the 15th tee, well, I hope it is finely open for play. As it has been closed for play my last few rounds. Some of the traps had water. Overall though - I enjoyed the round.
Greens were loaded with leaves
If no one is going to clear the greens of leaves leave a potable leaf blower by the greens i would use it
Great course slow pace
The course was really nice. The food and drinks on the 8th hole was great. The pace of play wasn’t great. I’m not a good golfer by any means and I was waiting on every tee box and fairway.
Spring Meadow
Overall condition of the course for this time of year was good. There were a lot of leaves on the ground, which made it difficult to find your ball at times. Pace was slow due to an over booking in a two hour frost delay in the morning.
Solid course
Solid course for the money. Not in the best shape. Had rained recently and it was late October so some of that is understandable. Happy to play there. Will be back. Would recommend to others
Solid course
Solid course. Presents a decent challenge. Good price for what you get. A lot of the tee boxes were a mess. Big patches with no grass. Hard to keep your feet from slipping. In general, it wasn't as well kept as it usually is.
Overall - Very good
Course Fairways and greens are in very good shape considering they were recently aeriated.
Most T boxes in good shape except for a few. Should have a Ranger out on course to speed up slower foursomes.
Much Better Conditions
Last season there was an obnoxious amount of divots on the greens.
Way better this season.
Tee boxes can use a little TLC.
A lot of exposed dirt.
Understanding that trees are in play and add a degree of difficulty forcing to shape shots but there are a few branches that can be trimmed back a little, especially on some of the par threes for the golfers playing form the Blues.
Other than that. Place is great. Course hold water well. Staff is GREAT. Food/Drinks are great. Price and pace of play are on point.
Overall 4stars and will continue to make this ply “home course”.
