Flanders Valley Golf Club - White/Blue Course
About
Flanders Valley Golf Course has received praise as not only one of the best public golf courses in New Jersey, but also as one of the best in the U.S. Flanders offers two 18-hole championship courses, White-to-Blue and Red-to-Gold. The courses are spread across over 400 acres of Morris County's idyllic countryside. The White-to-Blue Course has a more traditional layout that sprawls across mostly flat terrain. The golf course may lack elevation changes but there are an abundance of mature trees to contend with on either side of the course, making it very tight in some spots. One of the most memorable holes is the par-4 14th, nicknamed "Top and Right." This slight dogleg left hole has a pond bordering the entire left side of the fairway.

Pretty, memorable finisher! Photo submitted by MarkMolyneux on 11/16/2015
Very nice for an old guy
I'm 71, use to be good ,but now can still break 80 from senior/ladies tees. Not use to walking ,but had to. Course was wet, but not difficult to walk at all. I'm tired today though! Played temp tees, to sandy greens. But they were actually good to putt on. Staff was great! Would definitely come back during season to actually see what the holes really play like. Also 2 other nines that seemed hillier.. Only problem was that I was a single. Caught a 3 some on 6th hole and they had no clue as to letting me play through.
Hidden gem
I am lucky enough to live in town and play this course 90% of the time. The grounds are well maintained. The greens are fantastic although probably the toughest greens to score on in NJ. You need to consider your shots carefully!!
There are a lot of ways to get in trouble if you don’t play smart. The tee boxes could use a little help. Tee boxes are well placed. From the white tees, the average golfer (me) can play to the 150 marker without issue on most holes.
Harder from the tips for sure.
The fairways have plenty of room to try and bomb one but missing big will cost you big.
Walking this course is very doable!! There are a few on holes on the Gold course that are a climb but the Red nine flattens out. White to Blue is very walkable.
As far as the staff? A+. The staff is top notch and welcoming. If someone is not friendly it’s probably your fault.
Play well

A hidden gem
The course after frost delay lifted played spectacular. greens were in terrific shape and course meticulous I highly recommend @
Nothing changes here
I used to play here routinely quite some time ago. My biggest issue is the pace of play. There are no rangers and thusly you are at the mercy of the slowest player out there! We played eleven holes and then quit. Hitting the ball and then waiting for the next shot, doesn't facilitate for a fun time. You can't gain any momentum. My reasoning for not playing here in years evidently still exists.
Conditions
Mixed feelings after my first round. Staff is A+ and most of the course is in pretty good shape, with two exceptions: tee boxes and the length of fairway grass. Just no excuse to charge $75 walking and have furry fairways & chewed up tees.
I don’t live close by so it’s definitely not worth it for me.
The Course with four 9’s.
When I go to a golf course for the first time I have no idea what to expect. What I received at Flanders was attention and a genuine caring for the experience. This course is a little far from my home, but darn it’s fun. The Gold- Red Course, or the “Outer”, has a front 9 that is pretty much on the side hill of the Valley. Gold nine has so much beauty but the golf is championship esq. After playing on the side of the valley you now enter it, beginning on Red. The red course is WIDE open. Great greens and a shot makers dream. The Blue-White, or the Forrest, is very challenging. This is inside the valley, a much more traditional layout. Blue course has the most challenging pin locations and greens, while the White course is a tad bit easier. The 13th hole is called the Snake and if you ever play it you will see what I mean. All in all, The starters are funny, the pro shop is helpful and the golfers who play here are most friendly.
Hard to review when we didnt get a chance to play
No carts available - gas nor push carts. Couldn't play and they did not give a d@%n.
Fun day of golf
It is wide open but a good test of golf because of the greens. Very slow pace, though.
Love this course as well!
