Frog Rock Country Club

11/28/20....Thanksgiving Saturday morning, parking lot over half empty. Course in usual crappy conditions but I didn’t care, I was going to play w my sons. The miserable mope who couldn’t be seen thru the screened window mumbles there are no carts and it’s an hour and a half wait. I turn to my son and the mope grunts arrogantly “ see ya have a nice day “ there were 8 carts lined up, no one on the tee and no one on the course. It’s a miserable excuse for a golf course but the poorly trained staff and general rudeness are inexcusable. It’s cheap, but don’t waste a penny here playing golf! You always get what you pay for!

The price is unbeatable no doubt. The course was a whole other issue. When the fairways look like the rough, rough looks like a giant sand trap or the jungle. The greens are not well taken care of as crab grass is growing making long puts impossible with the bounces you know are coming. I guess you get what you pay for.

Where else can you play on a weekend morning in your pajamas! I absolutely appreciate the role this course plays in the era of the country club golf for a day gig.I played on a recent weekend alone without a tee time, hardly any money, ripped bag, old clubs, stayed in my Converses, and a big smile. It would be easy to knock this course but I for one feel very fortunate that these kind of establishments still exist. Great for working on golf and tan.

Layout of the course is nice, but the up keep is terrible. No tee boxes, more like hitting in my back yard. Fairways are filled with dirt, crab grass, when there is a fairway. Some holes aren't even trimmed for a fairway. Cart was terrible, and dirty. I've played here many times but this is most likely my last time. Sprinklers going off when your about to hit your approach shots. They charge 31.00 for the round and it's just not worth the money. More like a 20 course at most. Food is good and staff is friendly, just wish they took better care of the course.

What a waste of a golf course. No tee boxes to speak of just untrimmed grass. Found an abandoned cart in the middle of a fairway, ball cleaning stations were so rusted and unusable. The back of the scorecard had a picture of Bing Crosby which is probably the last time the course had any maintenance. Carts were horrible and broke down after the 4th hole, had to walk back to the club house to get a 2nd one which wasn't much better. Don't waste your time or money on this course.

Frog Rock's County Club is a outstanding and wonderful course! I go there whenever I find the time by myself or with friends. The course layout is interesting, so I recommend to check it out.

Played on a Saturday and Sunday. Course is Tight and Challenging. 6th Hole a little Strange but playable.

Overall Course is a Great Place to Play and Improve your Game.

You have to Love the 13th Par 3 over the water.
