Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Valleyview/Lakeview Course
About
The Valleyview nine is the most difficult course at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, which is located in northwest New Jersey approximately one hour from New York City. Small greens, tree-lined fairways, hilly terrain and out of bounds on seven of nine holes are among the reasons the Valleyview nine is a test. The Byron Phoebus design opened in 1979.

I love this course
From the pro shop to the starter to the halfway house to the bar Farmstead is great. Some holes quite challenging with others no so much so. Depends on how well you play. It's always been a stress free round there for me.
Great golf with a fair price.
I played the Lake and Club holes and was pleased. The pace of play was 4 hours on a Friday 9:30 am. I really liked the putting and chipping area. It may help to offer a net to drive a few balls into. Adding yardage markers in the fairways may improve speed of play even more. There are these large white stakes on the side of the fairways for just the 150 distance. Better than nothing. The greens and tee boxes where in good shape and the rough was fair. Kind of quirky to have a par 3 as the last hole, but it IS a good value. I would definitely return.
Hotdeal price at golf now, overcharge at the golf course, this is a scam
I booked 18 holes through golf now ($25ea/w cart), but the pro shop forced me to pay $82.50 and only play 9 holes, so I couldn't ruin my golf schedule. i want my money back!!!
Amazing course
Staff is great, actually polite and respectful. Course is in amazing shape.
Rangers could be a bit MORE helpful
Love the course, but the pace of play added a lot of time to our round . . . . . The guys we were playing with spoke directly to the ranger, he literally drove off in the opposite direction . . . so much for him helping . . .
I WILL go back again, hopefully the pace of play is a bit better . . .
Very Impressed
Unlike some courses this place was GOLD. Only issue was pace of play by the two (2) in front of us that were at one point almost 2 full holes behind. Someone we played with spoke to the ranger at the turn he literality turn the OTHER way a drove off. We had a great time beside and look forward to coming back.
My Favorite Course
I always enjoy a round at Farmstead. The course is fair and the environment is great. Very friendly staff too,
Great course
Farmstead has 3 nines which adds to its charm. There are great views with interesting layouts of several holes. The staff are also great
NIce cool spring weather playing long
The course is in good condition. Play the course in sunny day with temperature at 50 some degree. We finish in a little over 3 hours.
