Farmstead Golf & Country Club - Lakeview/Clubview Course
About
Water comes into play on six holes on the Lakeview nine at the 27-hole Farmstead Golf & Country Club, which is located in northwest New Jersey approximately an hour from New York City. None is more challenging than the closing hole, a very short -- but very intimidating -- par 3 over water. The Byron Phoebus design opened in 1965.

Great Condition - Fast Pace of Play
Got out as a solo for 9 on Valleyview and finished in 90 minutes. Course was in Great Condition
Great shape. Some pace issues.
Course is in good shape and beautiful to be on. It was wet so very path only wasn’t ideal. There was some pace of play issues and backups but a ranger was able to mostly sort it out. Got through 18 as a twosome in 4 hours. As a golfer on a budget it was a great round for the hot deal I was able to snag.
Little things
If there is not going to be a drink cart perhaps you can put water in the coolers. And ball washer could be filled.
Slow slow
There was an outing..5 hour round, waiting on every hole; no ranger to speed up play. Greens were the slowest greens I ever played and I have played in over 100 courses worldwide for decades..no one repairing ball marks. The only positive was the nice weather.
Great course!
Farmstead is one of my favorite courses. I do prefer playing the 9 split of Lake View and Club View.
Each 9 has its share of challenges but it's a good balance.
Very comfortable course
Farmstead is a friendly course with enough challenges to make it a great place to play. And, the scenery is awesome
Crowded last Friday Sep 6 2013 PM
Tournament playing in between public outings made slow playing pace. Customers should be informed before selling tee times, so we can decide.
Nice layout -great staff.
Course is in good shape for the amount of play it gets. Fun layout. A few tee boxes were in rough shape, but expected this time of year with all the play.
Greens were fine. Bunkers could use a little more sand. Rough is not overly done, fair if you find it.
farmstead
why cant they put the pin locator on the pin in the correct place.3 were off by 40ft. ???lazy-don't care??this is a ongoing problem!!!!!!
Course was in good shape. A couple of the Tee boxes were somewhat beat up but this is to be expected on a Saturday in the summer. The layout of the course is really nice with water around most of the holes. The people at the club house were quite friendly. There is a chipping and putting green available.
Right up there with the Crystal Springs courses next door!
Farmstead really keeps everything nice and tidy. Absolutely beautiful holes, manicured greens, and wildlife a’plenty. No condos or townhomes lining any fairways (that I’d inevitably smoke with a wicked slice). I was the second tee time of the day as a solo player - the foursome in front of me let me play through on the third hole and it was smooth sailing from there.
Finished in under three hours and was home by 9:30.
Staff is super friendly and i will gladly go back there again. Bravo, Farmstead. Bravo!
Beautiful scenery
Great course. Very well maintained and scenic. Love this course!
