below average course
the staff is very friendly, and the players their are very nice. However, the course is consistently in terrible condition and overall just unkept. High prices for a well below average course.
1st dry day at the Links
The course was in good shape but the greens still needed a little more to heal after aeration. Except for the 4some in front of us, one who had the handicap flag on his cart but chose to drive almost onto the green at most holes, we had the average round time of 4 hrs. BTW, the 2 with handicap flags on their separate carts, I couldn’t see an issue with their abilities. At each hole, they were at the end of the hole but chose to put like it was the Masters and then hop into their carts and off.
As for the refreshments, no cart service today. We decided to go elsewhere for lunch. I really hope they build the clubhouse soon. Really enjoyed sitting at the bar they had.
Tee boxes and greens
The tee boxes were in poor condition (not mowed low enough and uneven with patches of dirt.
Greens were aerated holes affected pitting effectiveness. When I called the course BEFROE BOOKING RESERVATION, the receptionist ( a Male named Mitch) told me the greens had not been aerated.
Much lmproved Golf Course - Nice Layout and Very Peaceful
Compliments to the Course Management. Having moved away, I hadn't played this course in over 10 years. The course was in excellent condition with consistent sand traps and greens. Much of the brush under the trees had been cleared so you could find your ball even with an errant shot. I like the layout where each hole is separate from the others and each hole has some character. I'll be back.
Great course, great price!
The course is just challenging enough to make it enjoyable and it’s in great shape. We had a wonderful round.
Rude ranger
Inadvertently drove in a no carts area
The ranger, or groundskeeper approached me and asked me if I had seen any of the seven signs about cart paths only.
There were not seven signs.
I was frustrated by a not great shot and not paying attention
The person was rude and demeaning and my playing partners who I didn’t know remarked about it
I’ve been playing at The Links since it opened in the late seventies and have never been spoken to like this by anyone else before
A little manners would be nice
Rude ranger
I unintentionally drove in a no carts area .
I was frustrated by a not so good shot and was not paying attention
The ranger was on my butt about missing signs
“Seven of them !!”(not seven there really)
I’ve been playing at this course since it opened in the late 70’s. Never been spoken to by anyone there like that
A first warning would have been nice
Perfect Weather
Great day, course improvements look good, tee boxes great, greens perfect. Good pace of play, considering the volume of players. Great outing.
Never again
I’ve played worse courses, but never for $60. Prices way too high for the condition and scenery. Showed up for my tee time and was paired with no one, so I was a single in the middle of two 3somes. No ownership of the course by anyone working there, only “well, you can go introduce yourself to a group”. After 8, it started poring and asked what their rain check policy was. No one had a clue and basically told me to there is none. I’ll pay less for a Jaw’s course and have a much better experience.
Early season
Everything is good here just hard to give a great review with the weather conditions in the winter season
Good course for the value
Good course for the value. Greens were tough probably because of the time of year.
Great course
Course is in great shape already. Love the layout of this track, tests all aspects of your game. Pace of play became an issue on the back 9 unfortunately catching two slower playing groups in front of us. Only negative is no hot dogs at the turn this day.
Dude, you admitted that you drove into a no carts area because you were not paying attention and that there were signs. (Maybe not seven as suggested). Yes, the ranger was up your butt because he was doing his job. That was your first warning. My hope is that the ranger is also enforcing slow play as well. Makes for a more enjoyable round. Perhaps instead of being annoyed because the ranger called you out for something you should not have been doing, you should be more aware of your surroundings.
