Reviews
perfect for beginners
My wife was playing for the second time in the last 14 years. She wanted something easier to play so we gave Rolling Greens a try. It's perfect for the beginner or someone yo freshen up their skills. The course is in good condition and has a few challenging parts for the intermediate.
Great condition
Course is in a great condition right now. 2 or 3 greens could use a little work and there was one hold where there was a patch of grass missing on the fairway but nothing I would complain about.
Excellent environment for beginners
I've been playing for about 4 years now, far from a professional. I took my fiancée out yesterday for her second time on a full 18 hole course and she loved Rolling Greens. The staff is unbelievably courteous and accommodating, the other golfers are friendly, and the course is well kept for a place that is much less costly than some of the other more "ritzy" places.
She felt right at home and was comfortable, all while playing and learning. There waa no pressure to speed through the round, giving us opportunities to go over shots that she had taken and what other ways she could have/should have approached it. The geese are fun to watch and navigate around while driving the course, although I think we could all do without the trail that they leave behind. One of the young men working in the pro shop left us with a little comment about the geese as we were leaving that had me laughing for quite a while about if you hit a goose you take a stroke off your score (not promoting harm to the animal of course, but making some fun of the population that frequent the course).
We will undoubtedly be back again.
nice break away from the longer courses
the course has an interesting mix of par 3's and 4's..long par 3's but short 4's and 5's..great course to practice on.you dont have to feel intimidated by the monster long holes like some courses have..fun to play and gives you a confident feeling when you come off the course..
Very nice greens, decent fairways, nice sand in sand traps....tee boxes need some work
Definitely will put this course on my radar.
Some narrow fairways but very friendly distances/yardage.
Simple Fairways
I stumbled across this course on a Wednesday afternoon and it was well worth the 1 hour drive. For being in the middle of the fall, the course was exceptionally clean of debris (with the exception of the overflowing garbage cans) and the greens were nice and soft. I really enjoyed the fact that the layout was simple and the pace was fast.
Nice course, nice staff.
Although there were a lot of leaves, which made it difficult to find my ball a couple of times, the course was well maintained. The grounds crew were working constantly to clear the greens and fairways but more leaves fell where they had just cleaned, so it was not a maintenance issue. I felt a little bad for them as they were engaged in a losing battle.
Overall the course played from somewhat easy to somewhat challenging.
The gentleman in the office was very friendly. With the Golfnow price, this was an absolute bargain. I will gladly play there again.
Great course
I have played here once a week for over a year and the course is great. Well-maintained, decently challenging. Would recommend!
Great course for anyone
Love this course not a great player and I get pars got 5 on Sunday
pleasant course to play
We had an early tee time - sprinklers still on - it was a slight challenge to stay dry - greens were in good condition - fast play - ended up playing 27 holes - pro shop guys were extremely friendly - upset they didn't have logo balls
OK if you pay under $35
This was the second time I played Rolling Greens this year. The first was late April/early May as the season was starting. Back then, the conditions weren't great - lots of downed tree limbs, leaves everywhere, and soggy. I gave it the benefit of the doubt as it was early. Well, it wasn't much different Sunday September 15th. Granted, there was a bit of weather the day prior so I don't want to completely undermine the grounds keeping, but it sure seemed like more effort could have been made to clear some of the major tree limbs and leaves. Took longer trying to find balls that never should have been lost.
For under $35, it's worth the round - if you can get the $22 - $26 pre-pay, for sure. The normal $35 - $39 no way. The flow isn't spectacular and the fairways are tight - as my golf partner that day put it, "It seemed like they tried to squeeze and extra 9 holes on a 9 hole sized course."
Overall - I would go back in a pinch if I had nothing else lined up and I was really wanting to play - but it would have to be discounted.
course nice, toilet very old.
Old and small pro shop , old rest rooms, but the course itself is nicely maintained. New carts. Very good bargain for $29.
They have been constantly improving the course - keep up the good work!
Great value! now that they have been improving the course.
Great value
It's not the most challenging course, but I would go there again. Friendly staff, very laid back atmosphere, and you can't beat the price.
Great course for learning golf. Advanced players won't be challenged.
Well kept. Greens run true and are well kept. They are working on improvements at the moment. New golf carts.
SHUT YOUR SPRINKLERS OFF!
either put your sprinklers on at night or make sure they are off by the time you open. we couldn't play our 2nd or 3rd hole cause the sprinklers around the green would not shut off. then the sprinklers decide to rotate and soak our carts and equipment. the first few holes we were dodging sprinklers. like you have got to be kidding me? you know people are playing so shut them off. then we had to wait to tee off on holes because grounds keepers would not clear the fairways. and our tee time was 0800
Short course, lots of beginners and dangerous
Watch your back if you play here, tee boxes behind greens and just awful layout. On the bright side, the carts were nice.
I enjoyed it. Good bargain and course is in good shape
Well maintained, not too crowded at 8 am, lots of geese waste, thoughAug
TLDR; Worth it
You get what you pay for, not in a GREAT way but not in a bad way either. It works for me.
