Reviews
Easy Course
Tried this course due to the price. Lots of potential, greens in good shape, but geese are making a mess of things. Course is short, not too challenging, but good for my wife who's just learning. Would play again with her, but prefer courses for myself where you can open it up a bit.
pretty good value
Had the first tee time of the day, finished in under 3hrs as a 2-some. course was mostly good, a few areas needed some love. even with moisture on the ground the greens were super fast.
Ok course, but at a great price.
This is a prime example of you get what you pay for. It was cheap, and the course wasn't very well kept. That being said, it was a fun time and worth the money. I've never lost so many balls that were in plain sight though.
Course for Beginners - Play at your own risk
This course is fine. I was actually quite impressed with how manicured the greens were and how fast they were running.
Rolling Greens is an executive course for beginners. Playing at about 5,000 yards, you can expect a lot of par 3s, a lot of irons off the tee, and mostly straight holes with minimal fairway bunkers. It is not challenging for the experienced golf, but a good practice course for your iron game. I found myself hitting 3i > SW into the greens on most of the par 4s.
Now, with a beginner course, you will find the following:
- Slow play
- Poor etiquette
- People taking your ball when they know its not theirs
- Beer drinking
- A lot of wayward shots (don't expect them to yell fore!)
- not a lot of people cleaning up the green/replacing divots/ball marks
- poor cart etiquette, driving over tee boxes, near greens
If you're willing to tolerate this, then it will be a fun executive course. I played at the first tee time in the morning so pace was not an issue.
It's cheap for a reason
You get what you pay for, there are not many golf courses that are under $30 for 18 holes. If you are looking for an affordable course this one fits the bill. Don't expect much, the greens aren't well maintained, half of the tee boxes were completely bare and the byproduct of Canadian geese was littered about. However, all that being said, it what you get for a $20 tee time.
Course is tight but definitely worth going back to! We enjoyed ourselves!
Small course , fairways are tight,, some bunkers need to be worked on! 9 par 3's sounds easy but they were tougher par 3's , some over 200 yards. Me and my buddies enjoyed the course and will go back again!
Small but Challenging
Fairways very narrow, but not much trouble if you go off fairway.
If they could extend 3 of the 9 par 3's to make them par 4's these would be a really nice course.
Back 9 has 6 par 3's
Course kept very nice, staff very friendly.
short but challenging
for a short course the pace of play I thought was a little slow, the bunkers are in the process of being redone but not yet all full with sand, some greens need extra attention due to geese!
Nice short course
Nice short par 65 course with lots of trees lining the fairways to keep it challenging. Be nice if a few came down on the par 5's. Staff is very friendly. About 1/3 of the sand traps need some maintenance. Only hard dirt instead of sand. That would be my only complaint. Enjoyed playing there. Will be back.
Short but fun
Very short course, but still somewhat challenging. A ton of par 3's with some 200+ ones thrown in there. You cant get the ball to sit on the greens, but it is very nice to putt on them. Worth the low cost.
overall the course was in good shape.
I played this course about 6-8 weeks ago and it wasn't in that great of shape due to hurricane sandy. A lot of trees were down and the greens were in rough shape. but as of 7/10 the fairways were in great shape, trees removed. The bunkers were being worked on as we played so if your shot wound up in one that had a few piles of sand in it you were outta luck.
short but very tight which makes it fun and challenging
Greens are flat but in good shape and fairly quick. Sand was a lttle wierd but did see work being done on the traps. If you cant hit your driver dead straight you should leave it in your trunk. Its an executive course but alot of the par threes are pushing 200 yards and it was fun to play for a goof
Iron Play
Leave the driver in the bag if your long off the tee. Tight fairways make this course a challenge. Great place to work on your irons.
Fun for a short course.
Tight, but fun. Good pace of play. Good value, especially during the week. Easy to walk.
good beginer course
good pace of play not crowded. well maintained except for some bunkers which are under repair
Good value, casual
No pretense here; This is a nice course; a little short. If the sand traps had sand in them I would give the course a 4 star rating.
Great course and not crowded
This par 65 course is a little tight, so you need to keep the ball in play. With 9 par 3's, the shortest being 157 yards, you can really work on your short game. We had no one in front of us and no one behind us the whole round. We didn't feel like we were playing that quickly, but when we looked at the clock we couldn't believe how fast we played.
Fun course to get out and play.
Narrow fairways make this course challenging, there is not too much room for error off the tee box or you will find yourself playing from the opposite fairway.
course was in good shape
course was not exciting holes were beside each other up one down another but would be a good walk because green was close to next tee.
good value
Even after heavy rain the previous day the course was very playable. Our foursome all enjoyed ourselves.
