Atlantic City Country Club
About
When the Atlantic City Country Club Golf Course opened its doors to all daily-fee golfers, it immediately became a popular choice and it is considered to be one of the best courses in New Jersey. Golf Week Magazine even named it the #1 Public/Daily-Fee Golf Course in New Jersey. This famous golf course is where the term "birdie" is said to have been invented and where high-profile players like Arnold Palmer are said to frequent. This 18-hole course has a challenging layout and a picturesque coastal view with beautiful fairways. The greens are undulating and fast. The course also features challenging par-4s on the 14th and 18th holes. With several hazards on each including large fairway bunkers, both holes require great precision.

15th Green Photo submitted by ozzone47 on 12/07/2015
Best place to play in area.
Always the top choice for our trip to Atlantic City. Great course , staff , restaurant.
Highlight of the roadtrip
Course is in excellent condition. Staff is five star. Restaurant is an area favorite. We will be back
Still The Best...
...Public course in NJ. Unusual, there was not much wind today, which made it a little easier. Greens were excellent
Beautiful Course
Even though it was January the course was still very enjoyable I will definitely be back the staff was great
Awesome Course
Might be the nicest course I've ever played and I've played many public and a handful of private courses. The staff was friendly and the course was impeccable. I hope we can play it again next year on vacation - hopefully sooner.
Very nice course - but
This is a really nice old school facility , the course layout is fantastic along with nice locker rooms , good dining and a great staff . Unfortunately some of the course conditions were terrible , most notable were the tee boxes and some of the greens. For the high price admission they should pay more attention to details, it provides a better golfing experience . I'll give this place another shot in the fall,
Lot's of fun...... "Old Style Course"
Play from the back tees if you can still break 80............ some of the time. Don't miss the locker room !!!! Greens are small so 3 putts are rare. Looking forward to playing next year !
A Course with History
Was drawn to ACCC by the history behind the course, even though the price tag was a little salty ($99 after 3; much more in prime time). I'd say it was worth it to play the course once. It was in excellent condition, and the layout was much more open than I expected it to be. The last few holes near the marsh got a little tight, but much of the front felt pretty wide open. The bunkers were intimidating at times, but fair. There were many fantastic views of the AC skyline to compliment the round as well. Overall, it was a great experience. (Checking out some of the names on the lockers before the round was an added bonus.) Definitely worth playing.
The course is beautiful
Some challenging holes - a little confusing but otherwise great!
Best Course in Atlantic City
Just returned from a brothers golf trip to Atlantic City and played many of the local courses including Twisted Dunes, Balamor and Seaview Bay. Atlantic City Country Club was the best track by far and one of the top 5 courses I've ever played. The history of the course, excellent conditions, fun holes and views make it a must play in AC. Our only criticism would be the rude staff in the pro shop. We had trouble finding the pro shop which is strangely tucked behind a small door next to the men's locker room. The pro shop guy gave us attitude and called us dummys for not being able to find it. We told him that there were 5 other guys trying to find it too and he said they were all morons as well. Guy should find another job or not show up to work hungover. Besides this clown it was an extremely memorable and great round. HIghly recommend this course!
Neat place
You really get the feeling there is a lot of history here and not only because it's all over the clubhouse walls. The course was in decent shape with most of the attention being paid to the bunkering around the greens and the greens themselves. The course was not pristine tee to green but from 100 in is where this course shines. The back 9 is interesting as its along the water with Atlantic city in the background. The staff was super friendly. I'd definitely go back.
The Best Public Course in NJ
In my humble opinion. Every hole gives you something to think about. New bunker renovations are excellent and consistent throughout. My favorites are the 14th, a short par 4 with a forced carry over the bay to a narrow green. No. 15 might be one of the best par 3's in the state, with tidal basin, front, right and back of the green. And the par 4 16th that runs along the the bay. It's a must play!!
Great stop in AC
ACCC was one of my most enjoyable rounds this year. The front nine was nearly empty when we teed off late on a Friday morning and the weather was perfect. From that starting point, the course conditions did not disappoint. We found immaculate fairways and consistent greens which were quick, but allowed for aggressive lines if not putting directly downhill.
A great mix of playable and challenging holes makes it worthwhile for all skill levels. Expect a good deal of wind on holes near the bay, particularly 14 - 17. From the back tee, the par three 15th hole played directly into the wind and well over 200 yards. In those conditions, consider playing short and left rather than taking on the forced carry. Or risk carding a 6.
I opted for the latter, which was relived in the locker room and Taproom after the round. Make stops in both during your visit. They are replete with club history and staffed by a team eager to assist.
The rates are more expensive than other options in the area, but the experience is worth it. There is some variance depending on time of day and month of play. If your plans are flexible, you can find a discount.
Great track...fair but challenging...
If you like links golf this is a gem...We had a 12 guys go down to play the weather was terrible...raining the entire round, every guy loved the course...!
It is one of my top 5 courses I have ever played, and I have played Kohler, Pinehurst, St. Andrews, etc...
