Great public course close to Center City
Course is in excellent shape this year and is well maintained by players and staff. It's best to go out early on weekends to avoid slower play. There are two particularly challenging holes on the front. Number 4 is a long(ish) par 4 with an uphill tee shot leading to a blind second shot into a small green surrounded by traps. The other par 4s (and one par 5) are fairly straightforward but do require accurate tee shots since fairways are narrow. Number 7 is a long par 3 (230 from whites) and it is best to come up short and in the fairway than miss wide or long. The back is a bit more difficult and laid out much differently than the front. Keep the driver in the bag for holes 12 and 13 if you want to make birdie (or even par). The greens for 13-15 are very sloped and it's best to be below the hole. Holes 17 and 18 have a large water hazard to the right so it's best to draw or keep straight from the tee. Overall, this is a great public course to play regularly without breaking the bank which also has a very good bar/restaurant.
This course has a great layout
We spent a Saturday afternoon late tee time (3:50) for the first time at the course. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and roughs were in great shape and clearly well maintained. The greens were actually in great shape as well but with pin placement on most holes on a quick downslope it made putting challenging. I was very happy with the way this municipal public course was taken care of. Hats off to Kevin and the crew.
In Very Good Condition
Course was in excellent shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in immaculate condition. Nice new golf carts with touchscreen monitors and green reading. Pin placement was extremely difficult for an already difficult putting green but made it fun.
great
great pace, great conditions, challenging green. good day
My new favorite
Conditions are amazing for a public course especially considering the amount of traffic they get.
Great Conditions, Fair Price
The course was in great condition, except one tee box that was under repair and one other fair with some work being down but I expect those those to be fixed by peak season. Will definitely be back.
Great Updates aside from a few greens
The course was excellent, I’ve been playing here for a while. The new updates of new carts with gps and new tee boxes are great touches. The only problem was greens 13 and 15. The slope of them are so ridiculous that you could spend hours on them. After putting 5 times and rolling down the hill no matter what pace I put on the ball I gave up. Other than that, course was great.
Couldn’t have been a better day at golf
My son and I were out for the first day of golf what could be better than that of course was a little wet it was cartpath only, but was in great condition kudos to the staff and the groundsman yours truly Garth Przybilski
Good 9 holes
Had a good time on the course. Greens were just crazy hard and fast. Other than that was a good time.
First time this year
Played with another two some we all hit ball lot and had good time, finish 4.5 hours which good for here. Early in year so course was doing lot work but overall a fun course
Awful pace of play
5 and a half, nearly 6 hour round, pace of play gets slower and slower every time. Maybe they should work on pace of play rather than packing the course tight or 4somes
