Lot going on
Greens were still very sandy from the winter sanding but they were mowing them. they are incredibly fast for this time of year. right noe you need to drive over the putting green ruining it for the next 6 months so the construction on the club out can be done. I have no idea why they choose this route but that putting green is cut in half and already ruined.
This place only has greens
Pennsauken might have the best greens in NJ for a public course.... but that's it. They are smooth true and really taken care of but the same care doesnt seem to go into the rest of the course. The rough is really rough and trying to play out of clumps of grass and bare spots to lightning fast greens is impossible. Really makes it hard to enjoy. 13 green was so fast that a tap and I mean litteral tap from above the hole sent it off the front of the green. 13 green makes the course really not worth playing. our partner putted from 15 feet uphill and left it a foot short. it rolled over 20 feet back down and almost to the false front. naaa that's no fun
Played British open conditions
Played 1-14-24. 42° at first tee box. Lol. Said to the starter " ah not too bad out here, sun shining, a little windy but decent" he says enjoy your round. Great conditions for the time of the year. Tees greens and fairways very nice. Played 2 holes, clouds roll in. By the 4th tee. Near blizzard conditions teeing off. British open conditions, 40 mph winds, snow and cold. My 15 yr old loved it. We had cart covers and heaters in our carts. Stopped for beers after 9, no cooler needed today. The lady at the bar was super friendly and quick. Tiny hot dogs for the price. The sun came back out on the 16th hole. Played 18th into 30 mph winds..
It was cold and windy, I myself and my wife and my son. Liked the course.
Cool little short course, nothing crazy except for the 7th. 250 par3 from the blues. And the 10th. 466 from the blue.
Cart paths really suck in areas...
Pennsauken
Green were extremely fast. This demands you to be on the correct side of the hole
Sandbox greens and fairways. No communication
Great course to play however I am disappointed with the lack of communication regarding sanding of the greens and fairways. The greens and fairways were heavily sanded and the course was charged full price and there was no indication of such.
Nice Course but getting pricey.
The course is maintained decently for one owned by the township. My only issue is the cost to play is getting way out of hand. $95.00 for weekend play and the membership that was increased just recently is rumored to be increased again.
Nice course, terrible pace of play
Very nice course. Nice layout, absolutely terrible pace of play. Starter rushed groups out early which ended up in 6 carts waiting at multiple holes to hit tee shots. Called the clubhouse to alert them of this issue, they said someone would be right out, nobody ever came. Didn’t end up being able to finish our round. Really a shame, because it is a nice course, but won’t be back any time soon.
Frost Delayed start
We had signed up for 18 but with a 2 hr. (Our time was before 8) frost delay, we asked to get it switched to a 9 hole round. The Pro Shop person said no problem and we waited our turn. Other than having a couple of leaf ball searches, we had a great time.
The Marco’s restaurant afterwards was great too.
Solid public course
Course is in great shape. Some the pin placements were to tough for the fast greens. Of of the better public courses in the area.
SOME GREENS WERE IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT ON TO FAST AND PIN PLACEMENT ON A SLOPE.
nice course awful pace of play
the course is in great condition. fairways, tee boxes, and greens were all well kept. staff was friendly as well. however the pace of play was awful. 5 hour+ round. And i’m not one of those guys that expects to play a three hour round every time but 5 hours is a little outrageous. I’m assuming they don’t have any rangers despite having ranger carts because i didn’t see a single one all round. and according to the man i was booked with this is common occurrence for this course. with some enforcement on pace of play the course would be great however i can’t see myself returning just for the pace of play but otherwise the course is great.
Windy sunday
Alway good place play 4.5 hours which good for here Eagle played at 4:30 so think everyone moved along good
Nice Day Good Deal
Taking advantage of rare warm October weather. The course was in good shape. Enjoyed play with three others I never met before. A few too many leaves for my off fairway game, but only lost a few balls and had a good time.
