Nice walking course
Great course to walk. Great greens when mowed low. Good challenging layout. Not the longest from back tees, but still very challenging, especially some of the par 5’s.
Typical day at rutgers
Beautiful day. Course held the rain really well from the week of heavy rain. Wind made some of the long par 5s a bit longer which was a new challenge. Enjoyed the day.
Squeeze in a round between rains
The course was in good condition even after heavy rain the whole morning. The green was beautiful
Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood
Gorgeous day for golf. As usual, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Got us off early when there was a no-show.
I noticed what great shape the course was in, but saw very few workers. How do they do it? Course was perfect.
Now, my golf, however, stunk, but I had a wonderful time. Go figure.

The course is always in good condition. The greens are in great condition and very challenging. The pace of play was good and the staff are friendly and courteous.
Played long! Haven’t had many nice days this spring. Was a lot of fun. Played more like 6700 yards in cool air! Greens nice but tough.
I have played this course for forty years. Plays much longer than people say. If u play from championship tees is very long . Greens are not easy either. Highly recommend as if u hit ball squarely u can score. From living in area, this course not rediculously difficult yet can be very hard when windy. With all the rain in New Jersey , all the courses are thin in fairway unless u play a 100,000 a year country club. I have always enjoyed this course!!!!
Nice soggy day
Everyone on the course had to walk due to wet conditions. Made for a real old school day. Course was a bit soggy which made the walk a little spongy, but it was fine.
A fair test.
Early in the year, the rough was spotty; fairways and especially greens in good shape. The layout flowed nicely and was pleasing to the eye. Take care reading the greens. Overall a very enjoyable round.
Decent conditions for early spring
Greens are in great shape for this time of year. Lot of different little projects going on around the course and fairways and rough are still pretty spotty. Hopefully will grow in nicely in a few weeks. Every bunker seemed to have plenty of good sand too.
Rutgers golf course one of the best
Even though the surface was hard due to cold weather it was good to play.
played this course often but was disappointed that only the back nine was available for play, for my group. I was told they were working on the front nine but i did see other golfers playing the front nine. I did see workers on the back while we were playing. Overall i enjoyed the round with the slight detour. the course looks to be making improvements and i will be back next season, i find the course challenging but fun.
Decent course in ok shape
This was my first time playing the course. We played the Black Tees because we didn't know any better but we probably should have played the Scarlet (back tees) because the length was short from the Blacks. If you have decent distance off the tee you can eat up this course. I was on in two on the first par 5 after a good tee shot left with me 187 to hole.
The greens were lightening fast, probably some of the hardest greens I've played this year. If you like a challenge putting, I would recommend this course. The green complexes were large (biggest I've ever seen) and you could easily run the ball 20 yards up from front to back if your shot didn't land soft.
The fairways are in ok shape, given it's now past the growing season. We were paired up with a local who plays the course a lot. He told us they aerated the fairways in the fall and the ground had a fungus problem which left a lot of dead patches of grass. He suggested we move our lie onto to a large patch of grass when in the fairway, I would suggest the same!
Other than that, be careful on holes 10 and 12. They are blind tee shots with a creek running across the fairway near the landing zone if you use a driver.
Also, you must be in position on this course. What makes it tough are all the trees. If you don't land in the fairway you will probably be impeded by a tree branch (if not a row of trees).
