First timer at RU
Great condition (better than good and less than exceptional) and a terrific value. They have numerous rangers driving around ensuring that each round is finished in about 4 hours. Some may not like that kind of watchful eye, but as someone that likes to play at that pace, it serves as a plus for me. They also have a nice little snack truck at the turn (picture attached). I’ll definitely try to play again.
Fast round!
Played on a misty day after a day of rain and the course held up nicely. Greens were slow but not in terrible shape. No standing water on any hole. The course is very straight forward with little challenges. Played 18 holes in 3 hours and 15 minutes which was awesome! My Golfnow fee included cart although the course didn’t allow carts at all that day because of “rain”. I wish I had some kind of refund for that. Overall it was a good day. I was happy to get out and play.
A very nice course
I have played this course many times in the past but the new superintendent is doing an excellent job of making this course even better than it was I recommend any type of golfer to play this course ,the conditions are outstanding
A stellar Scarlet experience
Not a very long course but great character wonderful dog legs left and right greens running lovely lots of undulations pin placements the day we played was very challenging thank you Mr. Supt greens were nice and cut and rolled no patchy areas tea boxes were a little chewed up but to be expected this late in the season wonderful staff Cody the starter the two lads in the pro shop just wonderful look forward to coming back thanks again all the best
Scarlett gem in Piscataway
Scarlett gem in Piscataway lovely little track great welcome from the young lads at the clubhouse Cody the starter gentleman couple of tea boxes that were a little dog up but other than that short golf course nice dog legs left and right nice par fives a shorter course for low handicap golfers but the greens are lovely great undulations wonderful character not much elevation change you can actually score very well on this golf course greens were a little fast and true love them very much look forward to going back thanks again
Really liked this course.
Greens and fairways are well maintained.
Also has some challenging holes.
The one thing I didn't like about the course was slow play. This was my 4th time playing here and each round took around 5 1/2 + hours to play.
Pace of play nightmare
Golf course was real fun if you can actually finish your round in the afternoon. First of all, the golf course was backed up by 20 minutes. Not sure why that’s the case considering Rutgers is not the most difficult course to find your ball. Second, I was paired up with true beginners. Whiffing shots, hitting horrendous fat shots, 5 putting, and taking videos of their horrible swing. After finishing the front 9 in 3 hours, I decided to end the round since there was no way I’ll finish the back 9 before it gets dark. For those of you who are reading this review, don’t play Rutgers in the afternoon if you are looking to complete a full round. I recommend to book a tee time early as you can in the morning if you decide to play here.
Solid and reliable
Having played Rutgers a few times this year, it remains consistent.
Pace of play was a bit slow .
Course was in good shape.
