Wild Oaks Country Club is a 27-hole course in Quinton Township. The golf course is conveniently located near all major bridges and highways in the tri-state area. The holes are divided into nines and played in three different 18-hole combinations. The club was named after the four ancient Oak trees that originally stood on the site of the golf course, but only one has been able to withstand the test of time. This 450-year old tree sits to the right of the second fairway on the White Cedar nine. The White Cedar/Willow Oaks Course puts together the two longer nines. You'll come across the occasional bunker and water hazard but overall, it's a player-friendly enough course for beginners though it's probably the club's most challenging due to the length.

Course going down hill

I have played this course a couple times the past couple year because it is close to my home. Second time this year and the greens are gone. Very bad looking like dried out mud Flats with very little grass. Sad but this course was a decent course at one time. They may not be in business much longer

A Trip In Vain!

I played the course once many years ago and always wanted to return to see how it has changed. It was hard to find current reviews so I decided to give to a shot.

There are three nines on the course (Red, White, Yellow). Only the Red & White were open. While I'm sensitive to the issues caused by rain in terms of mowing ... I have to say the course condition was shockingly bad beyond just a missed day of mowing. There was little difference between fairway and rough grass. Drainage is a huge issue everywhere ... by that I mean there were many areas where sitting water had killed the grass leaving brown crusty areas in many places.

The greens are poor at best, full of crab grass and slow even where smooth. The few traps are in poor shape. The cart paths are just that ... gravely rough paths ... sort of....

Bottom line ... don't bother with Wild Oaks ... I was hugely disappointed and really hope they are able to turn the course into a more solid conditioned layout.

Not worth the trip

This course was 35 min from the house off the beaten path, $40 with a cart early Sunday morning. The course layout was ok but the conditions of the fairway and rough lots of crab grass - and the greens were flat but a number had crab grass growing up through the bent grass and they were sadly in need of some serious work. Really not kept up and therefore gets a thumbs down - Not worth the trip.

Good place for cows

Course was not in very good shape. Greens were the worse I have ever seen. If there wasn't 't mostly crab grass on the greens then it was the bare dirt spots. I would never go there again.

Not bad for the price

Typical southern New Jersey midsummer golf conditions. Fairways were thin, greens showed wear and tear from golfers not fixing their ball marks.
All in all though, for the price paid was an enjoyable round of golf. Course does have some nice holes and can offer some difficulty.

Easy Fun Course to Play

Nice place to play. We met the owner who was a gentlemen. They have a laid back style and the course is fun.
A little far to drive but if I lived closer I would play more often.

Course Review

This course is in pretty rough condition, but for the money you pay for and the pace you can play at, it is overall pretty decent. We played in about 4 hours, the weather was nice, and there weren't that many people out with us, so we were able to play quick. It is a fairly easy course, but the condition it is in makes it harder, greens were very dry and the fairway played more like the rough. But for those in the area who want to play a quick round nearby it is an ok value. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. And plenty of beers to choose from.

This is a viable 27 hole golf course whose tee areas are level.

This is a viable 27 hole golf course whose tee areas are level, who's fairways are cut and the greens are for the most part true. I've played it a half dozen times this year and always was able to play in less than 4 hours. If golfers don't support this course it will end up another waste land like the 3 other golf courses that used to be nearby.

Decent and local but could use work

The course was decent to get out on and work on your game but could use some work around the greens. It definitely has potential with some changes and needed maintenance but definitely a nice, local, relatively inexpensive course to enjoy.

Very playable, worth the money

I had seen the reviews for this course range anywhere from horrible to very nice. I noticed the last few reviews said the course was in ok shape but the greens were in good shape. Well, I agree. The greens were in nice shape, not perfect, but they seemed to roll true and only had a small few bad spots on only a few greens. The fairways were not great. Lots of different kinds of grass out their. Most of it was bad. But all the fairways had grass coverage. The tee boxes were the same. The way we played it we allowed ourselves the option to roll it in the fairways to be able to find some good grass to hit off of.
I found Wild Oaks to be very playable and had no problem with the course. If you are a stickler for things to be perfect, don't play here. If you like to play for a good price ($40 on Sunday at 8:00 am) an you don't need things to be perfect, give it a shot. They have 27 holes and I am looking forward to going back to play again and checkout the other 9 holes I didn't see.

Great place to play regularly

This course while not the top of the line country club type of course is a very nice and fairly well maintained course with a price that allows you to play as much as you like. The people are friendly and generally you can get on anytime without a hassle. Greens need some work but over the past few years they have gotten better and better. Highly recommend for a regular stop.

Course was in fairly good shape for late summer.

Played all 27 holes, the greens on the two 9s behind the clubhouse were hard and unreceptive to any shots including high lofted shots. The 9 holes to the right of the clubhouse was in decent shape however the greens were in much better condition and very receptive to incoming shots.....the ball would actually spin on these greens unlike the other two courses. Overall decent shape, great value for the money and perfect for me and my son who is a beginner.

Course needs serious work

look if you just want to go out and bring an entire cooler full of beer and have a good time for 3 plus hours with your buds then this is right up your alley, other wise stay away. This course has absolutely no fair ways. There is just an extension of the rough. all though I was surprised at how most of the greens were not in that bad of shape compared to everything else. There is three 9 hole courses. I paid for 18 and ended up playing all 27. In my opinion the yellow is the tougher and more interesting 9 holes to play. But I would never play this course again.

Great course for the price.

Played a round on a beautiful Sunday afternoon and the course was not very packed. The holes were well kept, but the traps could use some sand. It was an enjoyable round and the staff was friendly.

Needs maintenance

Fairways are mostly weeds. Green, but long. We could hardly tell where the fairway ended and the rough began. Greens were fair, but slow and a bit bumpy.

Wasn't worth the $12.00 fire sale price.

My front lawn has better grass than the tee boxes and the fairways. It looked like the fairway irrigation system wasn't working- the fairways were brown with solid crabgrass. The tee boxes didn't look like tee boxes.. hope you get the point here. The greens were green and playable, but very flat and easy. Save your money and pick another course.
Also, bugs were terrible.

Nice greens

Fairways could be cut a little shorter and bunkers need a lot of attention. Course was a little water logged when I played due to all of the rain. Some of the holes we a little hard to find, but once you got to know the course it wasnt bad. 27 hole layout allows you to play a different combination each time. WouId like to play again when it's a bit drier. Let you bring your own food and beverages. Staff is friendly and laid back. Best feature were the greens. For $18 (sometimes less) per person, a great value!
