Quail Brook Golf Course
About
Quail Brook Golf Course in Somerset is one of central New Jersey's top public courses. The challenging design is a favorite amongst local golfers. The layout has a diverse mix of holes, some of which are spacious and wide-open and others that are rolling and tight. Although the golf course may seem short at 6,630 yards from the back tees, don't be fooled by the yardage. The course can feel much longer thanks to the hilly terrain. The front nine has subtler undulations while the back nine is dramatically hilly, which makes it a tough course to walk. Quail Brook Golf Course's undulating fairways lead to challenging sloped greens that are framed with strategically placed bunkers. There aren't too many opportunities for driving, but your short game will definitely get a workout.

Absolutely brilliant course
One of the most enjoyable courses I’ve played this year. Special shoutout to the starter who was the loveliest person and gifted me and my golf friends some guidebooks about the course. Can’t wait to go back!
Solid Course
Good course, and it provides a tale of two different nines.
Front-Flat
Back-Hilly, harder to navigate.
The course has a lot of bunkers, and you can leave the driver in the bag on a lot of holes as the course isn’t long.
Good shape, and probably best to ride this course as there are gaps in between some holes, especially on the back nine going underneath the road.
Scenic course in great shape. Interesting holes. Back nine had a lot of walking between holes
Good golf experience
Had not been here for many years. Little slow pace of play but course was in very good condition. Definitely will be back.
Great as usual!!!
Even on a busy day this course maintains a good pace of play. Out of the may times I’ve played here I’ve never had a round go over 4.5 and it’s normally close to 4.
The course is always well maintained, greens are consistent and the golfers that typically play there respect the game and the course. Risk/reward???
Hit it where you’re supposed to and you’ll score well!!! If you do not, you will not!
As for the staff - they are are always friendly and helpful.
I’m summary I’ve played many course in the area and this is by far my favorite.
Nice muni course
Course is in great shape, no water hazards, but a lot of sand. Pace of play was terrible due to timing and abundance of hackers. Would rate higher if they provided water or had a snack shop / beverage person especially during 85 degree heat and humidity. Vending machine charged 2.50 for a bottle of water at the turn.
Great service
In a prior around I had left my four iron in the rough on 18. I called and asked about it, and several hours later they called back and said the club had been brought in and would be held. A week later I picked it up and the club was tagged with my name and telephone number. Rain and thunderstorms were forecast for today, but I played anyway and did 18 holes in three hours. BTW, the driving range has grass like mats and is unbeatable.
