One of my Favorites
Mercer East is one of my favorite courses to play. I like the layout and pace of play Does not seem to matter how busy (which it typically is) you normally get a 4 ball round completed in 4.5 hours max. My most recent round was a little disappointing as the greens had not recovered well from late October aeration (very sandy and holes) Not sure they will get any better as it is late November already.
Having said that I will continue to play as I really like this place.
Slow play
First time playing this course. Always played the west course. The course is in great shape however the greens recently aerated so the putts weren’t very true. The play was very slow since we had to wait at each tee box around five minutes. Don’t know who was slow whether the group in front or further in front of them. Had a good time with great weather and good friends. Layout is great. Would definitely play again.
ALWAYS GOOD
Putting was an issue as greens have not recovered from aeration. Otherwise the usual enjoyable course.
Great course beautiful back drop
Great course , fun and challenging. Played west side. Tee box are in bad condition but it has been a long wet season yet fairways and green were in great conditions.
been a while
I have not played the East course for maybe five years and that was my only time on the course. But I have played the West course a few times recently and the East course is every bit as challenging, it's just a different type of golf course. I still don't like the 17th hole however. Late season aeration was a disappointment but we adapted with a two putt rule in general. It was in the 60's but damp with an on again off again drizzle.
will go back
First time playing it
Very nice layout
Good condition
Greens were fast and true
A FAVORITE
I always enjoy playing the East course. Everything is in front of you, no blind shots. A few par 4's that are tough due to length. The greens are always in good shape. Keep it in play and you can score well.
great layout.
course in very good shape for this time of year.Bunkers are very good shape compared to most courses.Greens in great shape also great course for all levels of players.
Who was the sadiest
Who the h e double hockey sticks set up this course today????? The fairways were 3 inches thick no roll at all on drives . The greens were set up as if this was the Masters you couldn't hold the green under any circumstances. To make matters worse 16 0f 18 pins were set on the sides of slopes. You touch a putt and it rolled 25 feet past or back at you. I've never seen this course like this. I'm a 6 handicap and I barley broke 90 today. For the first time in a long Long time I didn't have fun on a golf course . It was like root canal. It was super slow out there also because of these conditions. We played behind 3 ketchup bottles it was brutal. If I wanted to play a tournament course I would do so. But if this floats your boat go for it. Bar was closed today.
Hidden Gem
Recently played this course for the first time.
Played it in the rain and wind on my first round and fell in love.
I've played it 5 times in the last 3 weeks.
Starters are so nice and are happy to talk about the course.
Playing it again this weekend.
One of yhe better public courses in the central area of New Jersay
I live in Monmouth county and enjoy some wonderful courses in the county. This course compares with the best of the Monmouth courses.
