Great Value!!!
this is a great course in the middle of Rio Rancho New Mexico. The only bad thing about the course was the fairways had a few spots that were bare and roped off. otherwise, great course. I will definitely play here again. the staff and the bar and grill are all highly recommended.
Course in bad shape
This looks like it used to be a great course, but it is really getting run down. Sometimes I couldn't distinguish the weeds from the fairways. On the plus side, not a lot of people are playing the course so I was able to play very quickly. Also it is fairly cheap to play.
It's getting better every time I play it
I've lived a block from this golf course for twenty years. In that time it's changed hands three times. And the course fell apart to the point that it was not worth playing. But the new ownership is dedicated and devoted to returning this once pristine course to its glory, and every time I play it now, it gets better and better. The greens are undulated, offering quite a challenge, and are in top notch shape. The fairways are recovering, and are in pretty good shape. The bunkers are not in good shape, but they are being addressed. The tee boxes are not bad either. I recommend that anyone go ahead and give this course another look. You'll be surprised at the changes.
Pace of play makes up for condition of course.
While the course had many condition issues the greens were in great shape. The greens played a bit slow, but no issues getting the ball to hit and stick. Also the pace of play was great under 3 1/2 hours to play eighteen. Only had to wait on the last three holes. When considering how cheep it was to play with all the other positives, the rough condition of some of the fairways didn't spoil an overall enjoyable round.
Not a nice course overall.
This was the 4th course i have played in the Albuquerque area and this was by far my least favorite.
With a lot of work and money...........
This course has a nice layout and good practice facilities. But it is in desperate need of repairs. I understand there are water issues and heard there's new owners. I would suggest they consider making this a true desert course with small fairways and desert in between. It could be a great place for golf with some major upgrades.
struggling course
Think it was recently sold. Greens were ok but fairways hadn't been mowed in a while and had a lot of areas without grass and just dirt. Course layout is good. I was just visiting and didn't know about conditions before hand. Played a 9 hole city course a few days later that was in much better shape for half the price.
Not the same course it used to be
Had a reservation for unlimited golf with tax included. Well , I was only allowed to play 18 , and was charged tax at the facility. The staff made me feel like I was an unwelcome guest. Very Elitist attitude . Course is in Terrible condition with the greens being Almost unplayable. Almost every hole has areas roped off for repair. Would be nice if these areas were actually repaired , however they are the same areas that were roped off 2 years ago.
Potential if they ever decide to take care of it
This course has a very appealing layout, unfortunately, the condition is horrendous!!!
This course has some very interesting an challenging holes
Course has some very challenging holes, yes there were some fairways an greens that needed some attention, but overall we really enjoyed playing there, especially found the entire staff very friendly and willing to help in anyway they could. We will be back.....
There is only one place better to play....ANYWHERE!
Good luck distinguishing fairway from wasteland. Most employees view you as interruption. Eric the golf pro and his staff have great attitudes considering what they must endure due to course conditions. I think this will be public course soon, rumors are they are opening restaurant to public now as the members are wise enough not to eat there.
