Although it's only an hour from New York City, the Garrison's secluded location nestled in the Hudson Highlands makes it feel much further. Perched 800 feet above the Hudson River, the 18-hole Garrison golf course offers panoramic views of the river and the surrounding mountains. As beautiful as the rolling hills are, they provide a challenging topography that will keep you from being distracted by the scenery. The rolling greens are flanked with bunkers and water. In addition to the uphill, downhill, and side hill lies, you can expect a few tough carries over deep ravines and stands of mature oaks along the fairways. The elevation changes are especially dramatic on the front nine while the back nine is a bit more open and forgiving, but you'll still need accuracy throughout the entire golf course.

Nice layout front 9 tough but if playing with someone that knows the course helps...
Nice Course and great views
Course is in good condition. Only complaint is no marshal on course so play slowed down, especially on the back nine.
It’s a goat track
It’s almost all hills and slopes, very well tended, fast greens. Never go on a day where heavy wind is in the forecast, because the winds coming off the Hudson valley will kill your scorecard.
Historic Track
Love this course lotta fun great track tough greens excellent views shame it’s closing play it while you can !
Recent course conditions
Course conditions poor, T boxes poorly kept, no drinks no food service.
Staff were very friendly.
I will not return.
Beautiful landscaping
Very friendly staff and a very interesting course. It was challenging and provided some very nice holes.
Play it While You Can
I’ve really grown to love this place…two uniquely challenging nines and some beautiful views, but alas we’re told this is the final season. It’s no wonder given how difficult this course must be to maintain. It’s vast, wooded, watered and as a result has some rough spots, but generally in good condition. Rough is very deep in places but fairways, greens and most tees are in good shape. The brush and woods around the course need lots of work if they’re gonna speed play up. I’ll miss this place and expect to play it more this summer before they close.
