a nice well maintained course. some nice challenging holes.
Good Course for the money. They seem to be always working on course, making improvements. Greens are very good and true. The fairways needed to be mowed. In all fairness it rained the previous day. Over all a good course
What a friendly staff!
My friend and I really enjoyed playing today.
Thank you for accommodating our timing today!
A nice front 9 that can be played pretty quick.
The course was in great shape and I was able to play the front 9 in just over an hour, ..very nice!!!
Great course, poor course condition
This course would be an excellent course if it was not so dry and hard; despite the extra length off the tee box (unneeded due to course length), the fairways were difficult to play normally (many dry spots); additionally, the greens were very hard and were unreceptive; I hit an excellent 8-iron onto a green, but my ball that hit about the white pin position bounced high and off the back of the green into a pond; the layout was excellent and fun to strategically play; I would love to play this course again if the conditions were normal; I believe the course condition was due to a drought.
Good time had by all.
Played Big Oak with my father-in-law and brother-in-law, both not great golfers. The course was good for them and interesting enough for me (2.4 index). Greens were a tad slow for me but smooth, some with a good amount of undulations. Fairways on the front were a little baked, but the back was much greener. Pace of play was fine, played in about 3 1/2 hours with them in a cart and me walking. Never felt hurried or held up. My only complaints would be there aren’t a lot of yardage markers so a rangefinder or GPS is a must to keep things moving, and from the back tees there are a few tee shots where some trees need trimmed. Having a tee shot that is one to two yards off your start line will get knocked out of the air. All in all a fun time and would definitely go back again.
Small Big Oak
Course was nice. As a first timer, took a couple holes to realize the shortness of the course and adjust the clubs accordingly. Any average to above average plus male can take two irons on almost all of the par 4s and get there in 2. I am a fan of the feel of the course. This is much more of an accuracy course than power and distance. Would recommend and plan to return.
This course provides a good variety of holes.
We enjoy playing Big Oak. The staff is just beginning to fix the cart paths which previously made for a difficult ride between holes. The weather in our area has been very rainy so it has also been a challenge to keep the fairways and rough mowed to perfection, but they try their best. The staff is friendly and the food that is offered is very good.
Finger Lakes Golf
Friendly course. Front nine is older has mature pine trees and short par 4s. Easier for everyone. Back nine is newer and more challenging Lots of water, mature trees and tougher layout than front. All and all a fun layout. Fastest between 10 am and 3 pm. Enjoy! Nice family run business.
Without golf now I wouldnt play Big Oak.....it's in desperate need of a grounds crew. Some of the greens look like they have leprosy , not to mention the jungles throughout......mow for gods sake
Just all around nice course. The layout is perfect, challenging but very playable. I like that it's not easy but set up so anyone can be successful.
