Beekman Country Club - Valley/Taconic
About
The 27 holes at Beekman Country Club enjoy a serene mountain setting nestled within the foothills of the Berkshires, just as they rise from the Hudson Valley. The golf course is divided into three nines: the Valley, Taconic, and Highland; that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The Valley/Taconic course offers both scenery and challenges. The Valley nine tumbles across rolling terrain and its sixth hole is home to one of the country's largest oak trees. The Taconic nine is the most difficult of the three. It is just as scenic as the other two nines but you can't let that distract you. Accuracy is needed to maneuver the tight fairways. There are also several tricky water hazards throughout the golf course, most notably protecting the front of the green on Taconic's sixth hole.

Course is in Great Shape! Great to see the Cart Girl, Outdoor tent to open Soon!
Nice day on the course in November
Course is in very good shape including traps, tees greens and fairways.
STILL A PLEASANT DAY ON THE COURSE
A nice place to play. Fairways and greens kept very nicely. Don't feel rushed when playing. Staff helpful and friendly. Will be back.
Interesting, but spotty.
Many areas on the 18 we played (Valley and Highland) should have been marked off as ground under repair. Many bare spots immediately around greens (#8 on Valley really was in bad shape, bunker was like concrete). Greens had just been aerated, and wasn't aware of that - most courses would not be doing that this early in season - so putting was quite problematic. Might be interested to play again if conditions were better (no aeration and less ground under repair).
I like the course but it is starting to be neglected.
A shame because it has a lot of potential.
Only go there if i get a good price.
average
gas not electric carts.. no gps..yardage markings on course not good . fairways and greens had areas under repair or were worn out. many holes, especially highland 9, fairways are close and parallel. we had 2 instances of errant line drive tee shots almost hitting us.
Horrible
Incompetent golf course management. This course has always had issues with how they manage tee times, pace of play and how they send groups out at the turn. I figured I would give them another chance. Huge mistake!!! I will never play here again. The starter sends us out on the Valley 9 and I look up there and see three groups backed up on the tee box. I look over at Highland and it’s wide open. I ask the starter if we can go out on Highland and he says, “absolutely not”, kind of rudely I might add. So we go to the Valley and it’s a stop and go nightmare the entire nine. The group in front of us were holding up the entire course and there were 2 1/2 holes open in front of them. Of course we didn’t see a Ranger out there once, so it was just further confirmation that the course could not care less about pace of play. We stopped at the clubhouse at the turn to grab something quick, but it took 40 minutes to get out of there. When we went back to the starter (different starter than morning) to play the back nine, we were paired up with another group and sent up to the Taconic nine. Highland was wide open again. We drive up to the Taconic and it was backed up with 3 groups, all of whom were complaining about the backup. We decided to return the cart and go home. It really is unbelievable that Beekman can’t figure out how to send groups out and make the turn without a huge bottleneck. It’s not rocket science guys. Go to some seminars and learn how to do it.
Good round, courses in very good shape!
Beekman is a nice place to play. The courses are in good condition and it’s just challenging enough for an intermediate golfer like myself.
Staff is helpful. Course is maintained well. Pace of play is slow unfortunately.
A Pleasant day on the golf course.
Registration was seamless and teed off a bit early. Course was in good shape and the round moved along at a good pace. Overall a nice experience.
Course conditions were great
I was surprised at how good the course conditions were today. The greens were in excellent shape. Ball rolled nicely. It rained hard, but the course drained quickly.
Short but challenging
Was surprised that the length from the tips are just under 6500 yards, but don't let that fool you. Definitely requires shot- making skills on many holes. The length may be short, but the greens are very challenging. Miss the green and you will test your short game skills. Heavy rough in and around these small greens with undulations. Many of the greens will fool you if you're not familiar. Hitting it past the pins coming in on approach will ruin you on many holes. Best advice: play smart, get your yardage correct and don't underestimate the course due to length; the greens make up for lack of length- especially on the par 5's which are short for the most part. Greens are true. Don't bounce the balls close to pin. Requires more finesse than going right at on short shots. Ball doesn't spin as much and greens are super tricky. These small greens will challenge you. Great place overall!
Course in good condition
Greens were in great shape, as was the entire course.
