GREAT COURSE- AMAZING STAFF
VERY FUN YET CHALLENGING COURSE. ALL THE STAFF IS GREAT HERE AS IS THE HEAD PRO. WITH THE NEW GREENS-KEEPER COMING IN THIS YEAR THE COURSE SHOULD BE BETTER THAN EVER.
Like the previous poster stated, this is basically a neighborhood club. I played here today for the first time and I really liked it from start to finish. We walked in and were greeted by very friendly staff. You have the country club feel, but not the old stuffy and unfriendly feel like many clubs have. The starter got us right out and it was smooth sailing from there.
Now don’t let this course fool you... the length is only 6300 from the tips, but that’s not the full story. The course has 5 par 3s and only 3 par 5s. Many of the par 4s are actually very long like the second and fifth holes that measure over 430 yards. If that wasn’t hard enough for non long hitters, this courses real defense is the narrow fairways. This is a course where there isn’t much room on either side. If you can hit the ball long, I’d suggest taking a wood or long iron off the tee on most holes. The rough was extremely thick... too tough for my liking, but that was my fault for being in it. The course has a pretty nice layout with some nice doglegs and water on a few holes. The greens aren’t big, but still roll fast and true. Lastly, some really strategically placed bunkers make this course a really tough track from the tips. Overall, enjoyed my round and the course. Would like to come back soon.
Good challenge but private
This course is open to residents of Lake Success that join as members. I went with a member on this day and enjoyed the course a lot. It has a lot of tight fairways, very thick rough, and pretty fast greens. There is some water around the course that you also have to look out for. I was having trouble with my driver and lost a lot of balls in the rough, it was deep enough that you couldn't find the ball in the regular rough some times. Course is in very good condition and is a good challenge with a nice variety of holes. If you get a chance to play it is definitely worth it.
