Lido Golf Club

This course layout is terrible and dangerous. It is a pinched layout. The greens and tee boxes are so close together you put your life in your hands leaving the safety of the cart. The fairways are not clearly defined, you don't have any idea where to hit the ball looking out from the tee it all looks the same dead beat up rough. The grounds keeper has an infatuation with rope. This guy has the entire course roped off, it is ridiculous. They don't even give you an opening to walk to the green you have to jump over the rope at every hole. Don't waste your money golf somewhere else. The turkey sandwich I had at the bar was OK but I had to share it with a dozen or so fruit flies and gnats.

Wide open. Water on course. 16th hole is very unique. Short course, but some holes can be very challenging.

Lido beach ??? What beach ? There is none there ! In fact the ocean is on the other side of the main road, 8 holes by mosquitoes infested waters, nearly 6 hours round, crabby starter, no fairway because it was so dry , the greens were the highlight of the course , in summary, definitely not worth the money, mosquito bites , even while using bug spray!, and a 6 hours round! I know you may be wondering why did I stick it out , simply cause I had driven an hour to get there, and I just kept hoping it got better since it was my first time there..

After looking online and seeing the pictures of the course and reading about its history I decided to play with my friend. When we arrived the course was extremely backed up and we waited for close to an hour after our tee time to play. When we finally got on the course it was extremely disappointing to see that not only were the fairways barely cut, but they were also flooded. Had we known either of these things before hand we never would have went out to play on this day. The layout is very confusing and on a few holes we were not sure where to even hit. On top of all this the starter was rude to us and the driving range didn't have any balls available to use in the machine. I really wish that a better golf course could be on the great location that this course has. Will definitely not be playing this course again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Lido is one of the tuffest courses around. But catch it on a windy day, stokes and possible lost balsl will surley add postive strokes to your scorecard. Make a stop at the turn for some tasty burgers and a fee cold ones before back against the beast that is LIDO.

Holes along the water were challenging bc of the wind factor

As long as you tee off before 9:30am on the weekend, you should be close to a 4 hour pace. Tee boxes, fairways, and rough need some attention but the greens are in great shape. Overall the layout is forgiving and you have a shot at the green in most cases with the exception of some holes where water hazards are in play. Robert Trent Jones original design so it's got some history to it as well.

I started playing Lido Beach around 30 years ago. One of the best layouts on Long Island with wind and water coming into every shot. I stopped playing about 10 years ago due to poor course conditions. Burnt out fairways and poor greens with very little grass and mostly weeds. Booked a Golf Now tee time and was impressed with how the greens keeper was able to renovate the links style course. The fairways and green were acceptable and there was grass on the 13th holdefor the first time in years. I will be sure to come back soon

AVERAGE, AVERAGE, AVERAGE. SLOW PLAY. NOT ENOUGH TIME BETWEEN GROUPS, COURSE IS OVER LOADED. 5 HOURS, CAN ANYONE PLAY THIS GAME?

Had an unbelievable time at this course. The course has reopened better than ever post Sandy. The course was very well maintained and the staff were incredible, especially Dan. Ended up I'm leaving my phone on an earlier hole and Dan helped return it to me. Multiple water hazards add to the great fun of this course. Incredible value as well. Will definitely be back!

fairways were roped off because of excess water which made it soso to play greens were in nice condition but very slow

I paid $15 to ride 18 in a cart. A total steal! This was likely due to the fact that the course drains very poorly, and the fairways were loaded with puddles. It is a great course, but I wish they took better care of it.

Twilight round was excellent value.
Course in decent shape except for 2 of the greens by the water which had massive geese droppings.
We picked up rather than putt through the muck.

Wind picks up late day and made some holes 2-3 clubs longer.
Overall worth the $$

Great course. Challenging, especially from the Blue tees, but fair.

We had a group in front of us. Their where five people. And one guy was taking pictures on the course. By the 8th hole someone had call the club house and complained. I never saw a ranger come out. Since we where on the 8th hole. I figured someone was waiting for them to come in from the turn. Nothing!

I was paired with good people and we had a good time. Dispite no help from anyone.

Haven't played here in a couple years. Sandy did not treat Lido well. Went back after a recommendation. Course conditions are much improved. Had a great afternoon. Looking forward to going back soon.
Same room for the outdoor grill at the turn. Recommend the chili dog!

Could not play from the back tees which was disappointing. All the teas were located in the same spot. On the positive side the course is in fantastic shape. Greens are a tad slow but lido is definitely a play I would go back to and play!

Enjoyed the course, it was in very good condition and didn't have to wait on any hole. Finished the round in about 4 hours. Will definitely come back.

I enjoyed playing golf there
