Putnam County Golf Course
About
Nestled in the Lower Hudson Valley, Putnam County Golf Course enjoys a scenic location amid rolling hills yet it’s not too far from the city. Formerly known as Putnam National, the club was originally opened as a private club in 1959, it opened to the public when it was bought by the county in 2004 but it continues to offer the quality and amenities of a private country club. The golf course has front and back nines that are completely different from one another so be prepared to use all the clubs in your bag. Water hazards only come into play on two holes but don’t let that fool you, this course is formidable even for avid golfers. Putnam County Golf Course's final four holes are an especially challenging stretch that will test you with everything from uphill lies to a slew of strategically placed bunkers.

Great course
Course is in great shape. Second time playing it this year and has not disappoint. The other twosome getting paired with were friendly and we all had a great time.
It is a decent mid range course
Played Sunday afternoon
it was slow and crowded but no surprise
Course is dry and hilly and greens were ok
Fairways ok - they should put dirt on carts to fill divots
Get the players to do some work while they wait
Some fun holes - 8- 9 -10
18th is one of the hardest par 4s around
Overall enjoyed it
Fairways are close together on back nine
RE: PUTNAM DELIVERS
Great course - great conditions ... greens are fast and tough ... enjoy
So slow and impossible greens
I have played Putnam many times but this was the worst round yet. 5 1/2 hours to play the round, halfway house was not open but it is never open, the starters were rude as always, and the pin placements were impossible. My playing partners and I I hit almost very green in regulation only to walk away with 3-4 puts on every hole because there wasn’t a pin on a flat spot on any hole
Save your time and play one of the great Westchester courses.
Overall decent golf course and great for the price. The crowd of people who are there are questionable. Cursing is heard echoing throughout the golf course at all times due to its player. Interesting atmosphere. Could be a fluke day.
Perfect Day
Course was in good shape and pace of play surprisingly steady for a crowded Sunday afternoon! Greens were super fast which made it a challenging round.

Course is in good condition
Great value
Nice place. Went twilight hours, played front 9. It was fun ,but unfortunately the pace was slow.
