Pine Hills Country Club
About
Pine Hills Country Club sprawls cross 165 acres of Long Island's protected Pine Barrens. The golf course plays long at over 7,000 yards from the back tees but it is a playable and fair test. It is challenging as well with quite a bit of water and sand coming into play throughout. Towering, mature pines also line narrow fairways. One of the most difficult holes is the par-4 11th. This dogleg left is one of the many holes with water and it also features a green that is severely sloped from back to front. While the golf course is the main attraction, Pine Hills is also known for having the area's best public practice facility. The club boasts a driving range with target greens, a putting green with a 9-hole practice course, and a chipping green with a greenside sand trap.

Reviews
JML @ Pine Hills
Nice course , great shape for this time of year. Pace of play -- a little slow. White tees were all up so course played short. Can't wait to play again.
Great Value
Course is kept in great shape...staff always friendly...can’t beat the value...discovered this course early on the season...played it a couple of times...will be coming back!!! Thanks!!!!
Air rated greens
I felt we were mislead that we weren't told the greens had not only just been air rated but were not cut. The fairways were shorter than the greens and the rough also had not been cut in several days.
Maybe not enough staff?
I felt we were mislead, would never had played there if we knew the greens had been air rated, GN should have told us.
I would like a refund!
Sunrise tee time
Course is in great condition including bunkers which are often neglected at other courses. Had a 6:30 am tee time and zipped around in 3 hours and twenty minutes, love the course
Great course.
I have played this course a handful of times this summer. Great layout and the course is always in great shape. A pleasure to play.
Course has a forgiving layout
The course is right in front of you, if you can get out the box you can score here. Blue T’s keep you honest on this track. Heavy rain the day prior saw the course drain well although greens a little slow. Pine trees line the holes and gives an upstate “feel” , Pro Shop was friendly and club house very nice. It’s a nice course that won’t beat you up. Well worth a visit...
Great public course
I try to play here at least once a week. The course is in great shape from tee box to greens. It is challenging especially the back 9. Pace of play is usually good although a ranger would be a good investment. Staff is great. JC restaurant is a most visit after your round.
Great Track
What great value course in perfect shape. Bar and restaurant fun. Give it a shot.
Great place
It’s hard to criticize such a good golf course. Fairways were a little long but I’m sure that is heat related. Greens were not fast but very true. As usual the traps were all raked and really easy to play out of. One of the real go to places in the Riverhead/Manorville area
Easily one of the top 10 Public courses on Long Island
No two holes are alike, each hole is special . Very few residences along the course. One of the best practice areas on Long Island, driving range, chipping area and putting green.
Pail’s Review
The course was in great shape even though it had just rained
Front nine was straight forward while the back nine offered many challenges.
Fair course
JC afterwards was a treat with amazing food
Pine
Ive been looking forward to playing here for a while and i was disappointed. A absolutely beautiful course with a great practice area plus the best greens ive played in a month. Thats the positive and now the negative. Pace was brutal, no one checking or moving groups along, had people on the course that aren’t skilled enough to play. This place has a great course but doesnt do anything to bring you back i mean they didnt even have a beverage girls come around
Very happy
Really nice course, fairways and greens were in really good shape even with this heatwave.. will def go back, the starter was super friendly as well. Only issue we had were the two pricks behind us. There was def a backup in front of us of 3 foursomes and these two fellas who refused to pair up with the twosome behind them felt the need to hit up on us repeatedly. We do not play slow by any means and when golf balls are flying past your cart as your pulling away from the greens that’s usually a confrontation waiting to happen but it was too hot for that. I had a 1021 tee time so if you know who was after us maybe you oughta ban them from your beautiful course!!! Will be back for sure and my Pine Hills ball will be put in the ball display case with the others!!
I am sorry you had such a bad experience when visiting our golf course. We did have a large outing yesterday which may have caused the pace of play to be sub par. If you could please e-mail myself @ josephflanagnaiv@gmail.com I would like to talk to you on how we could improve your experience going forward.
