Pine Hills Country Club
About
Pine Hills Country Club sprawls cross 165 acres of Long Island's protected Pine Barrens. The golf course plays long at over 7,000 yards from the back tees but it is a playable and fair test. It is challenging as well with quite a bit of water and sand coming into play throughout. Towering, mature pines also line narrow fairways. One of the most difficult holes is the par-4 11th. This dogleg left is one of the many holes with water and it also features a green that is severely sloped from back to front. While the golf course is the main attraction, Pine Hills is also known for having the area's best public practice facility. The club boasts a driving range with target greens, a putting green with a 9-hole practice course, and a chipping green with a greenside sand trap.

Playing Great
Course is in maybe the best shape it’s ever been. Great round.
Five Stars All Around
I play this course several times a year, and the conditions are usually excellent. When conditions are not excellent. it's due to course maintenance (e.g., aerations.) The have a great range (you hit on grass), a great putting and chipping area, and bunkers to work on your trap game. The guys in the pro shop and cart area are top notch. It's definitely a great place to play, and work on, the game of golf.
Great place to play
Played here with a foursome. Pace of play was a little slow as there were 2 groups in front that were inexperienced. A first time here for us all. The course had been recently aerated so there were bumps to contend with, that said we really enjoyed playing here. Being a female golfer, I was not overly challenged with length of holes. ( thanks) I really appreciated that 18 was not a par 5. Usually by the time you get to the 18th you are tired, so ending with a par 4 was great! Watch out for hole 2 & 16 as there is hidden water before the green. ASK in the pro shop before you go out about it. Not clearly marked on your card!
Would definitely go here again. Very nice grounds and would like to try restaurant next time. A beautiful course!
Very Reliable
This course was just as good yesterday as it was back in June. The grounds are excellent. My compliments to the grounds staff. The boys in the pro shop are always helpful and friendly, as is the starter. The food and staff at JC's is equally as satisfying. Good place to play for an all-around pleasant day from start to finish!
Beautiful golf course, but where was the Ranger?
Got a great price to play on Columbus day through a hot deal, but the pace of play was terrible. It took us 5 1/2 hours to get through our round because of an inconsiderate foursome 2 groups ahead of us. We could see them taking their time/slow playing with no one to check their pace of play.. So now with the negative out of the way...
Big fairways and large, scrabble greens made it a very fun course to play. It seemed to play more to lefties with all the dogleg lefts, but other than that, beautiful scenery and very well kept grounds will bring me back for another try. Hoping the holiday weekend was what was dragging the pace.
Course in great shape
One of my favorite courses on Long Island and I play here quite frequently. This course is always in great condition but considering the rain storms last night I have to say I was very surprised how good of condition the course was in.
Great shape
Course is in great shape considering to hot summer we had. Practice area is very nice with a separate chipping / pitching area. Only down side was the grass range was beat up I guess good for practicing bad lies in the rough. I would have rather hit off the mats. Great bar/restaurant. Will play again.
Great Day At Pine Hills!
Course in great shape for late in the season. Green were firm and little slow due too all the rain we had. Course is tight when using your driver. The Par 5s are fun to get on in too. Some Par 4s are long! Par 3s are discent distance.Heads up on they will be airing the greens in a couple of weeks. Fairways are great shape and the tee boxes.

Hot day but course in good condition. Plenty of water and beverage cart was available. Challenging and fair
I would like to thank you for the kind review, but also ensure that this pace of play is not normal. We expect an average round take about 4:30 minutes. Next time you run into a situation like this while playing our golf course please don't hesitate to call the pro shop (631)878-7103 anytime, and we will rectify the situation. Once again we look forward to seeing you soon, and thanks again for picking us as your golf course.
